The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hey everyone!
Can you believe that I actually got online tonight? Amazing!
Alyson is going through a bad teething spell so getting her to bed was a battle. *sigh* Now Becky is next. Oh goody. Bah!
Anyone up for a chat view?

I think now that people are so much more aware of dangerous situations in relationships that most people AND CHURCHES are much more attuned to helping and providing support in those situations. Of course some people just cry abuse for anything but really, how many of us here in the HH would stand by with knowledge that someone we know is being abused and not help.
God will always take care of you and provide you with all you need. We are so blessed in this country especially in that way. You will always have someone in your life to whom you can turn for support if you need it. We don't always know who it will be but God always comes through like that. Those are those things some people think of as luck or coincidences... but I can see God's hand in every thread of them.

I'd love to chat/view, but I can't. Must get at least four pages of my paper written tonight so that I'll be able to go out and have fun on Saturday.
Perhaps next week, when I don't have school for a few days.

Say, maybe we can get together with Wneighbor and treat Frodo to a Texas barbecue! YEAH! And last night Myranda suggested that we take him to the drive in also. We thought it would be fun to take him to the drive in while they show ROTK. Don't know if that will work with our time schedule as Myranda will be living in San Antonio then.
At any rate, I like this Barbeque idea. Sounds like we could have him in sequence and do the hand-off without the postal service for that one.

sorry about funkles. catching up.

I will remember that... I'm going to be old myself next year....I hardly think so kiddo.
To: HairOfTheDog
Is this a date? Does this come with getting Flat Frodo out of your living room? Come help me figure out what's wrong in my living room.
To: JenB
But not sewing. I don't like needles. And it's boring, like what old ladies with no lives do. uh hummmmmmm. I'm not old. I'm not boring. And I have a great life talking to all you people I've never met in the hobbit hole.
Jen, are you there? Jen, are you listening? Hello, hello? Mumble mumble, it's so hard talking to invisible people.
To: Wneighbor
I never said you were old! Or boring. I said sewing was like something old ladies would do!
Sewing is boring, though. I can't get the needle to go where I want it. And who cares? I intend to be rich enough to pay someone to sew for me!
That's the plan, anyway. I think the fallback is "wear clothes with holes".

It's official... no more Freepin' from work... I thought we were winning the war???
I should be calling you from KD around 2:00 or so if all goes well.

I'm here!
Just used that popper! Pretty neat! Did a pretty good job! It had a little scoop on the top that I didn't know was there until I washed the vent thingy and the scoop fell out! I measured out what it would hold...4oz...just what I needed! That's convenient! After I got the corn in, I stuck the little scoop back in it's place and melted butter in it while it popped!

I think it's the dang kid thing. It's the house thing. We paid every year until we bought the house.
Okay, so the daycare bills help too...

You know what I think is really unfair? Homeschoolers paying school taxes. Bad enough for the people who don't have kids to have to pay for schools, but homeschool families have to pay twice!
That's why they have an average of 8 kids. So they can write off enough to pay for the Saxon mathbooks and phonics readers.

Just teasing. I love to sew. It's how I usually get new clothes! yes! I like designing my own clothes. Like a hobby, you know. Design it yourself. Knock em dead kind of thing. People never expect somebody like me to sew and stuff. It doesn't fit their stereotype (whichever one they have.)
To: 2Jedismom
Well that's just slicker than fresh oil! I might like to try some of that about now. (haven't eaten since breakfast - not a very Hobbity day.)
