Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

This is such a cooool idea! I love it. I see someone has already picked the Alamo. But while he is down this way I could show him Matagorda Island, South Padre, or the Aransas Wildlife Refuge where he could see a Whooping Crane. Unless they have all flown away for the summer, in which case I could find a live sized stand-up one that would make him right at home.
I have another idea or two, hmmmm.

OK,
FAQ started. I still need to plan out the navigation a little more too, adding links back to the main page and such.

- No aquatic activities: waterskiing, swimming, scuba diving, etc. You may take him to the beach, but please be aware of the surf. Likewise, please keep him out of the rain.
- Avoid airport security checkpoints. We do not want his sword confiscated.
Absolutely ROTFL!
Great FAQs!

What you have here with the ponies is hilarious.

It's just the start! - Nothing too strange yet! I want to take him to odd places... places one would just not expect to see Frodo! Maybe a bus stop. or the capital building, or the mall... Or a courtroom.

And it's boring, like what old ladies with no lives do.HEY! I represent that remark!
Actually my latest couple of sewing projects have been rather interesting. Just finished some Poodle Skirts for a Girl Scout Sock Hop this weekend. Clare's troop made 15 of them as a fundraiser for our NYC trip. Thr girls did the cutting out and appliqueing of 'records', musical notes and poodles. I tacked some of the appliques that hadn't been glued on too well, then put waistbands on the skirts.
Next I'm going to make Clare's costume for the upcoming AnimeCon. She's dressing as "Dark" (whoever that is). I'm going to make her a full length black vest, and we found her some very long black satin gloves and little black wings. I'll have to get a picture of her in it and will bring it to Entmoot.
I stopped sewing clothes a long time ago because i realized that I could find them cheaper than it would cost me in fabric and time to make them; even the better clothes like Lands' End, Talbot's and Eddie Bauer. I've become a SALE shopper! Besides, if I sewed more, I couldn't FREEP as much!

Looks like Frodo has had an auspicious start to his journey. This is going to be fun!!
I know we're supposed to write on the back where he's been, etc. But are we also supposed to write a journal entry for ecurbh to add to his website?
To: HairOfTheDog
and who said they would take him to Yellowstone? (cracks of Doom!) I did!! We hope to go the third week in August!

But are we also supposed to write a journal entry for ecurbh to add to his website?Whatever you feel inspired to write is fine. At least include captions for the photos. And for those without digital cameras (like me), I can scan prints or negatives. If you need to email pictures to me for posting, there is an email link on the homepage of the Hobbit Hole.

Hmm, I wonder what the actual dates of the Kitty Hawk celebration, and the Minnesota State Fair are? Actual date for the anniversary of the Wright Brother's flight is December. But they're celebrating all year. We have the beach house August 2-9.
If I could get him around the last of July we could take him to a couple of places in Richmond before we head to the beach. The Mrs. suggested the State Capitol (designed, of course, by Mr. Jefferson). I'm thinking also St. John's Church (where Patrick Henry made his famous speech) and, cough, cough...the White House of the Confederacy...
And if we're on a time crunch, I can ship him out Monday from the beach.
Oh, and HELLO! Good morning!

The FAQs look great. A small bit of editing:
Kitty Hawk, not Kittyhawk

Morning all!
Another busy day here and guess who's not going to get any work done again today 'cause he volunteered to puppy-sit again. Heh Heh Heh. Maybe we'll get some more cute beagle pup pics out of it.
Hair, I'm in on Frodo. I was thinking definately DC, maybe something like Camden Yards or Ft. McHenry in Shmaltimore, and maybe a trip to Amish country...

I am ready to burst... I just got my report card... 4.00!!!!
I am so pleased with myself. I am working very, very hard.
Since very few people know that I am going to school, I can't tell people... but you all know (and have helped me)...
But I got all A's... My overall gradepoint average is 4.00.
Sorry if it appears like I'm boasting... I'm not. I'm just very excited.
Fishses for the Smeagol!
