The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

She was quick to assure me today that they have all they need because I was offering to send too. So, probably the best thing she needs is good wishes. How about some goodie, or luxury, that she would never expect? Some sort of wonderful surprise?
We don't forget our troops, or their families. Besides, it's great fun to do something nice for someone else who's doing something nice for our troops.

I'm not in school....I served my time already.
To: Overtaxed
Well, I didn't think I was in school either, till I was dismissed from class!

Movie's over. As many times as they've been through this, you'd think they'd catch on that orcs were waiting for them on the western bank.
To: Overtaxed
Yeah... You'd think as many times as Legolas has warned them about that creeping feeling he gets when they are near, that they would believe him one of these times!

I know you both have probably turned in for the night, but I am concerned about what I said. I am absolutely on your side as a friend, and I don't think that came across. You are the only side of this that I can have an impact on, so you are the ones I can try to impact. I just want you here.
Please don't stay mad at me!

Cute puppy! Thank you for the pics!

Thinking-cap time. If she doesn't need cookies, how about something for the kids? DCDs? Tapes? I'm sure we can brainstorm something.
Coming up with an idea is half the fun, with the other half being delivering it.

WN:wow, that is some news, congratulations on the new grandbaby. Sounds like your daughter has her hands full. Hope he'll be heading back to Germany soon.

Chocolate is always good! What are fun things that are harder to find in Germany than here? - Having not been pregnant, nor been to Germany, I may have to defer to others for good ideas!

What are fun things that are harder to find in Germany than here? American editions of Gameboys? Stuff that isn't carried at the PX? Can we wire her some flowers?

Moonshine, gasoline, guns and ammo, New York strip steaks...

Oh Wyatt is just the cutest little thing! I hope his Mama gets him lots of chew toys so he doesn't chew everything else in her house!!
To: HairOfTheDog
I heard Rush today talking about "Baghdad Bob." Did he get that from us, or us from him?
I figure he, or at least his staff, lurks at FR.

Not sure but what maybe those extra kids aren't helping her keep her mind off some of the other issues right now though so it could be good. You're probably right. By the end of the day, when she has any time to herself to THINK about it, she's probably exhausted and drops right to sleep!
Let her know we're praying for her and Thomas! And congrats to YOU!! What do your 'grands' call you?
To: 300winmag
How about a little Hobbit Hole care package for her and the kids? I think we're big enough to take on another good deed.Oh boy!! Fun stuff, baby stuff, stuff for the girls, and sweet smelling bath soaky stuff for Mom!

If you are the majority, I am not sure why it is so important that you win. Seems like you already have. We are not in the majority. And I could list a dozen posters who have left, or seriously curtailed their time here in the last two months.
Kevin and I were not involved in the issue until drstevej was banned the first time. He is now forbidden to discuss any facet of Mormonism.
But again, Hair, this is NOT about "winning." Okay, in one sense it is because if we let it go, then they dominate the forum and have "won."
But, I've read the back of the Book, and I know who the winners are. I won't go to preaching here in the Hole, but I hope my Hobbit friends are with me when we win.
