Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I just love farm supply stores.Me too! Some of my best childhood memories are of going to a local farm supply place. Every spring we used to get cheapie rubber boots there...muck boots. (Though the natives have other names for 'em...not altogether appropriate in a family forum...)
There's a really huge place about forty-five minutes away that's my favorite these days. Farm-way, it's called. It's an odd combination of yuppie clothing, heavy duty work clothes, farm supplies, and touristy craft and souvenir (sp?) type stuff. I try not to go there TOO often or I'd be even more broke than I already am...for one thing, I'm a sucker for dog and cat toys and accessories!

Hey Corin, there is a farm store called "Southern States" that has stores all around VA, sure there must be one near Richmond. You used to even be able to get a hat from them that said "Southern States," which is cool.
Hello, everyone.

Here are the boxes!! All sealed up and ready to go! Note the customs forms filled out? Each box has to have documented what is inside it.

Hole-dwelling Freepers donated books, children's artwork, musical instruments, encouraging notes and over $400 to make this care package project a huge success! I'm shipping it out this afternoon.
What to go, Hole Dwellers!!

I am kind of shocked about the aggressiveness of the Left everywhere the last 6 months. It's like they are not even pretending any longer, they are very much in the open and very much openly attacking traditional American values. In fact, they are acting desperate, which is dangerous, IMO.

I'm sorry. Prayers.

. Course I have a *thing* for really neat buckets. I ain't even gonna ask...

Yeah, Southern States is big here (maybe even their HQ). I know their garden supply stores (they go under a different name), I just can't think of where the feed stores are.

Those Sodium Sulfate containers make pretty neat buckets. :)

Some of it has been kind of funny, esp the Dixie Chx, but I sure get mad with all these academic types.
To: Sam Cree
I think it's kind of funny that the brave peacenik is in hiding.

Yeah, both FoTR and TTT were PG-13. Several of us had kids younger than 13 who went to see them with us. We figured they would be OK with it because most of us had already read the books to them, or they're read them on their own.
