Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

OT: 'morning, won't be yard working this a.m.; 30 something degrees, but have some inside projects been meaning to do. Sue moved some more daylilies, now nicely spaced in a new area. We're still headscratching about a couple of other areas.

I'm hoping to get out in the yard today. It's been drizzling on and off this morning. Of course there's always housework to be done.

Car bomb.

It is surreal to see our troops standing at a roadblock checking people who are driving by going who knows where. That just isn't the way it is supposed to go! Taking over a Hostile country is not like this! - I don't know what they could do different, and I am not going to suggest I do, but it is surreal.

Just as surreal are people who would approach the roadblock of an invading force and follow orders to search them as if they were the state patrol. I am assuming those troops at the roadblock are speaking their language, but how did the cars know it was safe enough to approach? 2J, you think it is odd that they continue to drive around in downtown Baghdad... have you seen this?

It's cloudy, muggy, and somethimes drizzly over here. I have to get the house sister-clean before tomorow. :)

BTW I sent my sister a picture of Monster Kitty (where she's perched on the saddle)....she says she's using it for wallpaper.

Crap! - If I knew one has to be siser-clean I would have dusted my saddle! - I noticed the dust in the pic. I am so ashamed.

Oh, the weather. Nasty, cold, and wet.

We're going to see "The Core" in an hour. Between then, I fear, is a lot of housework. I got out of it by being assigned research into home repair. (That's not a good thing, around my house....)

It is not raining here, and I hope to go work horses a bit, clean stalls, get some laundry done, vacuum, and ..... yeeesh. I am tired already.

I miss and worry a little about the cute kitty, because I never think anyone's care will be as good as mine. I worry that I did not warn the lady that she better watch the door, because the kitten bolts for it when it is open, stuff like that. But I have to be careful about the commitments I make now... If a new heartbeat comes into this house right now, it just shouldn't be a kitty. too dangerous here for kitties.

HA! - I bet! - I haven't seen my bunnies for a while... They disappeared for winter last year too, but it has been warm out so I don't think they are hibernating!
