Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, I discovered low-low carb chocolate that tastes almost normal, is not that expensive, and only has one potential side effect (stomach troubles if you eat too much)
That helped!

Actually there's several different brands. What you do is go to the big drugstore, and where they have the diet food, look for Atkins chocolate, or other low carb guys. The ones you'd want have malitol, which is sugar alcohols or something, instead of sugar. Apparently your body doesn't digest them but they taste sweet. However if you have too much you will have problems.

have gone out for lunch and had burgers and fries the last few daysYeah, I was doing really good for about the past week. Then yesterday we had that meeting from hell. And I was frustrated and disgusted and there's this semi-okay Tex-Mex place that Myranda and I found that has a Wednesday enchilada special for 2.99. The enchiladas are just so so. Food isn't spicy enough but there's humongous amounts and refills all you want on chips, salsa, queso and tortillas. The chips are fried there, the tortillas are fresh made and the salsa is flavored well while not quite hot enough for me. So, I took out my frustrations there. And ended with their complimentary sopapillas. That created one of those episodes where I walked in the house laid on my bed and when my stomach hit I thought it might all come up again because I was JUST TOO FULL!

However if you have too much you will have problems. sounds like probably dwarf type problems.
To: Wneighbor
Oh no.... not the big bloat! - I hate that! - Would you like an after dinner mint? - It is only *wafer thin*!

Yeah, now my stomach's all used to that much food. I pigged out on turkey sandwiches, cheese, chips, peanuts chocolate and all that kind of junk food all afternoon. Pretty much blew the week of being good. I'll start over tomorrow.
reminder to self - pick up a pint of bluebell on the way home to prepare for re-entering the food intake maintenance program in 12 hours.

My Christmas cactus blooms at Christmas.
To: Wneighbor
Ummmm....not that I know of. This fungicide is still in development stages. I don't think they've tried it on seedlings. My study is just to see how long the fungicide and its metabolites stay in the ground and how far they move.

What? Christmas catci at Christmas? I suppose your Easter Lilies bloom at Easter, too!

I don't grow Easter Lilies, but the ones in the store bloom at Easter.

I think it has to do with the light. Anyway, I got better blooming results by putting the cactus outside all summer and bringing it in before lows at night get in the 20's.

(3) Hand-held "Wheel of Fortune" electronic games
(2) Six-pack AAA Batteries (for the Wheel of Fortune games)
(9) 2-Pk Disposable Cameras w/flash (total of 18)
(3) 24-pack AA batteries (total of 72 batteries)
Also, I bought:

Here is a picture of the items. I intend to buy a few more things...writing pads, envelopes, ink pens and some decks of cards either tomorrow or Sat. I am thinking this group of packages will be about three...not counting the 4 sets of the Books I bought the other day.

Thanks! I'm thrilled I finally got up and bought it. I've put this off for far too long.
