The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Well, if it tastes like bacon I'll eat it.

somehow i don't think cow parts taste quite like pig parts though. both however, have very valuable places in MY diet.

What's the matter Corin? OT and I are fixin' up heapin' platters of cow belly for you? That ought to be acceptable dwarf grub. I think it qualifies as red meat off the bone.

Good morning!

Lemme get breakfast out and served first, before OT tries to get bacon from a cow. *grin*

Pancakes and maple syrup, 5 platters of nice, crispy bacon and plump, juicy sausage links, hash browns and buttermilk bisuits. I've baked a fresh batch of blueberry muffins so help yourself! Coffee is practically tar-like this morning, so be forewarned. Juices are in the icebox! ENJOY!

Hair - You'll be missed today and we will be on our best behavior! hehehehehe.. Oh! And thanks for those scrumptious photos. I'm still swooning over Sean and Dom looks fabulous in that pic with Billy. Yummy! The way Elijah is smoking that cig though looks highly suspicious. The cig itself looks slightly odd as well. Hmmmm....

Bear - Too many men, too little time! Oooohhh..you are SO bad! LOL!!

2J - I got your pic of the chaplain and your emails as well. So happy to hear the stuff made it there so quickly. As I said in my email, I've been so sensitive lately. I even cried during American Idol last night when the kids sang Proud to be an American! LOL!

Prayers going up for our troops, our President and the innocent, along with the rest of those on my prayer list!

The Hobbit Hole Care Package Project Update!

Three of the first four packages arrived. It took 9 days! Here is the email from the Renagade Chaplain:

Kim,

I got three packages today! I haven't taken them to the Power House yet, but it looks as if the three "Male" boxes came in. I think you said that you had sent 3 "Male" and 1 "Female" packages. I'll get them over to the Power House (after rummaging and picking out anything I need - Ha, Ha) and get the items "on the shelves" for soldiers to take. I was telling our mail guy about you when he asked me, "Why do people send this stuff to you?" After telling him how you had a heart for soldiers and how we had common friends he said, "We need more Americans like that."

Just know, all that you do is greatly appreciated. I don't think I can ever say that enough!

Clay in His hands,

"Renegade Chaplain"

I wrote him back just a minute ago, reminding him that it isn't just me sending the packages. I told him that a bunch of politically conservative Tolkien Geeks had adopted him and his soldiers!
