Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Missed the funkle by that much!

I think he does smoke.... I have seen other shots where he was smoking.
Yeah - I don't know the story about the rings.
Actually, it might be a digital camera now that I look at it again, with a strap hanging down. For some reason the strap part looked to me like some kind of ticker tape.... can't say why! [shrug]

I noticed the strap, but I couldn't think what a strap would be attached to. I bet you're right and it's a digital camera... he's probably looking at the LCD display of the camera!

Dang......One more:

I sure do hope Elijah can grow out the hair soon. The buzz cut is not a good look *for him*, IMHO!

'The Core' is one of those movie trailers during which I had to hold my ears because it was SO LOUD!!
Y'all will just LOVE 'Greek Wedding'. It is truly a funny, sweet movie.
To: HairOfTheDog
Caption this? A Photoshop job, maybe?
To: SuziQ
Heh, "The Core" is the kind of movie I love to go to the theater to see... big, flashy, and loud. If the plot is stupid, that's ok, because then Rose and I can make fun of it!

Caption this?"So many men, so little time"?
To: SuziQ
What is up with the shirt?

What is up with the shirt? If it's real and not photoshopped (new verb?) then maybe he's more uncertain of his sexuality than he's let on...?
To: 2Jedismom
Thanks for the ping to the Baptism picture 2J.... the post you pinged to was apparently a duplicate that was pulled, but it led me to the original and it is a great pic.
Too bad the behavior on that thread is so horrible. People could have actually found hope and joy in it.

But it is a picture of someone else. Now, I could see having a shirt made like that for someone.... but I can't think of anyone but the subject ever wearing it! - It just defied explanation!

But it is a picture of someone else.My thought was that the guy in the picture was the host of a fishing show... the t-shirt was promoting whatever fishing show he hosted. Still don't know why Sir Ian would be wearing it, though!
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh, there's a few cranky sorts...there always is (except here). I just ignore them.

To: HairOfTheDog
Hmm, apparently the phrase "Women want me, fish fear me" is very popular among fishermen. Doing a Google search turns it up everywhere.
Had a nasty thought... maybe the guy in the pic is a "friend" of Sir Ian?
To: SuziQ
"Watched the movie the other night; it is hilarious!"
Jeanne and I also watched it the other night, it was pretty good, but to tell you the truth, it brought back a couple unpleasant memories of what it's like to marry accross cultures, even though 29 years later we both are thankful we did it.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Little old and not good looking enough. The last guy was not a frumpy fisher-type.
