The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah, the plan is to see about getting everyone in the same hotel. That way it will be easier schedule things to do together.

Yep, us females without marital partners need to make some share-a-room plans when the time gets closer. Not only will that save us some expenses but it'll give us more time to moot.

Niner, aka "the monster" is fine. She was really cute this morning playing with Gidget's face. Gidget tolerated it pretty well, but when it got too rough Gidget leaped onto me so I would save her. Save me! Save me!

Cats used to be afraid of dogs... How did it come to this?

Is the traffic that bad in Melbourne? 'Course to get there, I think Rosie might have to traverse the New Jersey Turnpike, which is a true horror.

Sure! I think sending the older books is fine, as long as they are fairly decent shape.

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to add the baggies and trashbags to my list. I'm concerned about sending things like powdered drink mixes, too...but they are so requested! Apparently their water is stale tasting. I'll try it and we'll see.

Also, were the LOTR books you were going send used? If so, send them!! I don't think they can have too many.

LOL Paypal is usually quite fast! Instant! I don't know what happened with yours.

I found the book sets on overstock.com are $16.79 a piece. I was thinking of buying four boxes.

Bear found a guy on Amazon that is selling them for $10.49. I contacted him and asked if I could get four sets and am waiting to hear back from him.

You could post your pic of Bay and Fatty doing the lawn and bill it as a "Redneck Lawn Mower." ;^)
