Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That's nothing. Last week, I polished off a half gallon of Blue Bell Mocha almond fudge in less than three days. All by myself.

Looks like someone reached up and cleaned the lens of the camera...

"Blue Bell Mocha almond fudge"
Sounds like fun, though.

I made up a box...one of the care package boxes, you know? I went in the living room and the boys had crushed it and tore it all up.
Suffice to say, they regret the action now. They are both down for naps.

The wind has calmed down, it sounds like, but the tarp is still blown up over the camera most the time.

Thanks 2J!
I'm TV-less and dial up doesn't do well with streaming video links. :(
I'll be leaving here early today to help Glen with the kids. My mom had to go provide emotional support to her best friend, whose daughter underwent an emergency C-section today. The baby girl was only 5 pounds and apparently has some serious problems including deformity of the legs. Doctors are currently running an MRI on the baby on the suspicion that she may have something wrong with her brain.
So much pain and grief in the world these days. The devil is certainly trying to have a field day.

Well, I am lucky that that's all I (think I) need to lose, but I am a fairly small person, so it is proportionately a larger amount. Still, 5 pounds isn't too hard to get rid of.
To: RMDupree
I hope the baby's brain is OK, Ruthy.

What gets me is the cars driving around!! Sirens going off, explosions in the distance...cars driving around! They are confident that we won't be bombing indiscriminately, but I'd still be a nervous nellie if I lived there. You never know where that anti-aircraft fire will be coming down. That is their biggest danger right now. I heard the Sky News reporter the other night talking about going to one of the hospitals after a bombing raid. He was seeing people who had cuts from broken glass, but he said the majority of the injuries were consistent with those caused by the ack-ack that naturally comes back down after it goes up without finding a target.
To: RMDupree
Oh, I'm sorry to hear about the little one.
I have 56K and it does good with this streaming...

Me too, Sam. It's her second child and she had a difficult pregnancy, but I never suspected that there was anything wrong with the baby.
My concern is that something will be incurable. I know her pretty well and she doesn't seem like the type of person to hold up well under stress. I'll just keep praying and hoping that whatever the problems are, they are fixable.

Thanks for the link, 2J. :)
As for the baby, I'm hoping my mom calls me later on and lets me know if the doctors have figured anything out yet. I pray the news is encouraging.

I'll just keep praying and hoping that whatever the problems are, they are fixable. Ruthy! You've had so many major things to pray for recently. It makes me think God must feel pretty confident about your prayer life.
To: Corin Stormhands
I am pretty impressed with the 40 some lbs. Takes determination, for sure. And hard headedness, I think.
