Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I've been playing on the "easy" setting, but there are still parts that are really tough.

Over 20 POB, none of whom could unclench for a good couple of days. Isn't that what they mean by the 'pucker factor'?

Yuck. Mud season is definitely upon usAh yes, March! Our Grits and Magnolias party was a lot of fun this morning. I was concerned about the weather, and we had a huge thunderstorm overnight. I was watching Fox New war coverage, and it took me a minute to realize that the booming I was hearing wasn't in Baghdad!
This morning was gorgeous, though, and it is still 71 deg. here in MA! We sat out in the sun for a little while, but we got hungry and went in for brunch. Good food and LOTS of it; felt like I was in Hobbiton! I'm just now getting online!

I always play on easy first, then try for harder next time through!
To: ksen
LOL. I don't think that game is approved anywhere ;-D
But it's one of the best PS2 games there is!
To: Dawntreader
Grand Theft Auto, is that what the GTA is for? I have heard that is a really bad game. But, that all the kids want it. My son hasn't asked for that one. He prbably knows we wouldn't get it anyway. Is it really good? It supposedly has a lot of violence and stuff. Is that the one that they can kill police officers in?

Attention Care Package contributors and various interested parties who want to inject their opinion anyway and are welcome to do so...As many of you know, the one thing that I was not able to purchase for the past care package shipment was sunscreen. The chaplain told me they really needed the SPF 30 level of coverage. I managed to find 8 "off-brand" 8oz bottles for a dollar each and purchased them.
I just now stopped in a kind of "five and dime" type store down the street that was going out of business. They had 24 bottles of COPPERTONE SPF 40 sunscreen for 74 cents each!! I purchased them all. Is that ok?
If it is, then I think we will have covered the sunscreen thing...don't you?
Unless I find it for 50 cents a bottle...;-D

That Vice City game is set in Miami, I believe.
Yeah, it's a bad game, but lots of fun. I have seen my kids play it.
To: 2Jedismom
I am OK with anything you think is OK. I'm grateful you are handling it.
To: 2Jedismom
HA! - Well done 2J!
So I need to be sending some more money then? - In case you find another deal? ;~D
Seriously, I need to do the transfer for the next set of boxes... I will send it now!

You can kill anyone in it actually. It's really good in the fact that you can roam wherever you want, do tons of side quests, the graphics are great, the story is great, etc etc. But yeah, it's violent and has bad language and I wouldn't recommend you getting it for your son. It's rated MA for a reason!
To: Sam Cree
Yes it's in Miami...or a Miami lookalike town. It is VERY VERY fun, but VERY VERY bad LOL. I like playing it when I've had a bad time in rush hour where people were ticking me off. It's a good game to let go of some road rage!
To: 2Jedismom
That's perfectly all right! I'll be sending more $ shortly.

I am always looking for good games to play, he and I together. We played all of the Tomb Raider games, and most of the Final fantasy. He likes the latest ones of FF, but I did not. I often thought that the Columbine kids or the Menendez brothers would have turned out much different if their parents had played these games with them. Even the GTA game. He's 15, maybe when he's older. We do play another, Grand Turismo, that I like a lot.

I think it all comes down to parent involvement. I know if I played GTA when I was younger I would have been fine because my parents were always involved in what I did and influenced me with morals already. Of course, they would not have allowed me to play GTA lol.
You didn't like Final Fantasy X? It's my fave FF game! I love it. (Have you seen the hype about FF X-2? It has the RPG feel, but also more adventure like Tomb Raider. It follows Yuna and Rikku)

Thanks guys! My friend that introduced me to the chaplain was soooo jealous!! LOL
Suzi...I never heard anything from paypal from you...I'm worried about it...I don't want it to have gotten lost...
