Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

"Is it art?"
Ha! By the standards of most university art departments, yes.

That camo duct tape is good for wrapping potato guns, I think.

I love the Myst series! Riven was my favorite, because I got all the way through it with only 1 hint that I had to get. Fun, fun, fun, but a huge time-waster for me! ;)

I couldn't figure out what to do! I just wandered around by myself!

Well, when I started with Myst, I wound up walking through a "how-to-solve" book, which kind of ruined that game for me. But the nice thing was that when I started in on Riven, I'd gotten the idea of how to play the games and solved almost the whole thing without help. Myst III I had more trouble with, but at least by then I'd figured out how to find hints without just reading a step-by-step walk-through of the game.
Someday when I visit, maybe I can help you get started. Once you get the idea of it, it's much easier to figure out what you're doing and then it's a blast.
To: Penny1
I took the game in and traded it at the video game store!

0T: Not very nice of them to pull that kind of head game; 32 miles isn't all that far, if you get the LOTR on CD, it could last till retirement.

CS: that's what I decided to do, paypal etc., kinda confusing for this good ol Missouri boy.
I can see that container gardening would have some advantages, as we look at the rest of the plant moving.
Did what I could to get rain moving our way, even washed the truck. sigh.

What?? You're not?????? No. The nearest one is in Cary, I think, and I'm not driving all over the dadburn state for groceries! :)

Evening.
I'm so tired today, I don't know why. It was a lovely spring day here. Choir was loads of fun. I even got some writing done. I really wanted to hang out here tonight but I am just too tired... so I will be logging off in a couple minutes...
Think it'll start tomorrow?

Camouflage Duct tapeI actually bought duct tape at Walmart last night. I saw a shelf labelled "camouflage duct tape" next to the regular duct tape, but I didn't look closely enough at it to see what it was.

According to the
Saddam Get Out of Town Clock, he has around 21 hours.
It's been gloomy and rainy for four days now and all I want to do is sleep. At least the daylilies that I transplanted seem to be doing okay.

I'm hesitating to wash my car cause I'm afraid I'll see there really is a scratch in the paint where the Mrs. back into me yesterday. Smashed the rear right light out of the van and chipped some paint on the van. With that and the scrape on the other side (an anonymous parking lot scrape) we're looking at a few hundred...sigh...

Think it'll start tomorrow? There will be action by this time tomorrow night.

Well, of course you couldn't see it.LOL! I hadn't thought of that, but you make a good point!

Hi Penny.
I figured out Myst, with the help of my children, who were just little kids then. But when they went to college, and I got stumped with Riven, I sort of got bored.
But I am ticked about not figuring it out, so if ever I have 48 or so hours that I don't know what to do with, I have a mind to give it another try.
I really love the Jules Verne, Victorian, machine, feel of the games.
To: Overtaxed
Ha!
Walmart has them too.

Hey Bear!
I just got through getting my butt kicked by two guys over at the MSN Gaming zone. It wouldn't have been so bad, but my team member quit about 2 minutes into the game. So I went the rest of the way by myself.
It was pretty cool playing with other people.
In order for us to get a HH game going we are going to all have to be on the same version of the game. Which one do you have?
I have Age of Kings and Conqueror's so I can play either one. We'd just need to make sure we had the latest patch downloaded from MS.
If we have compatible versions and are still up for a game on Saturday, I may need to push the time to 9 o'clock Texas time. I found out we have a fellowship to go to at 6:30 EST on Saturday night. I figure I should be home and ready by 10.
Let me know.
How's the new contract working out? Is the drive killing you yet?
