The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

We will have to keep working on these finer skills.

The Hobbit Hole Care Package Project
is off to a great start!
I was able to purchase the contents of 3 hygiene care packages this afternoon with contributions from some of the Hole Dwellers. Each box contains approx. $20 in hygiene items. See pictures below.
Care Package for Male
Care Package for Female
With contributions that are coming in, I expect to be able to purchase items for at least one more package, insert some newspapers and magazines and pay for the shipping. Way to go, Hole Dwelling Freepers!

Perhaps the guy's ones should have a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine....
Nevermind... You are giving these through the Chaplin, I remember!
LoTR books from the used bookstore!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yep. Next time I send some out, I'll probably do a "snacks" series. Then an "Entertainment" series. When I do the Entertainment series, I'll send some LOTR books. The sets at Sam's are soooo cheap (even though they have the tacky maps) it's hard to pass them up.

Hard to say, I think even a good finishing school would take awhile, and we don't have them 24/7.
Well, I am off! - Going to go visit and pick up my friend and bring her here, then after pony feeding time, we will be OUT!

Have Fun!

It's been a hoot because Michael Graham (afternoon talk jock) gave up the words stupid, moron and idiot for Lent. That's the equivalent of a vow of silence, when it comes to talking about liberals. Might as well give up "a", "and", "the", and "is", too. Of course, liberals still aren't too certain about the meaning of "is", anyway.

For the books, would it be possible to make up a Hobbit Hole sticker with the FR web site, and stick it inside the cover of each one? The books will be passed around, and maybe some of the folks that read it will stop by for a visit some day.

Hi Jen! Did homeschooling this morning, then the kids and I went to their h/sing teen get together this afternoon. They have a lot of fun playing Magic cards, watching Anime, drawing, etc. It is just for fun. We adults have fun, too, just yakking about stuff. The woman at whose house we meet is fixing to do an addition to the house, and we've all decided to help her and her hubby out when the kit comes in. That should make for some fun weekends!
Has it warmed up in the Burgh? Our #2 son IM'd last week; he had taken all the Magic Cards back to school, but since the younger ones are now interested, he's sending them back for them. I guess he's ok, he hasn't called lately, but I know he had some 'busy' classes this semester. He's going to try to get a research job at CMU again this summer. He co-authored a paper last year from the results of the research, so that was neat! He hasn't mentioned any more about grad school, but he did mention Stanford when he was home for Christmas. Don't know what other places he was considering.
How are your classes this semester? You must be really busy; only see you mostly on the weekends.

That HH link graphic would be perfect!

well, we can all see i'm the only one in the hole with no life on friday night. :-) Neither do I; I'm married with kids! Our big fun for tomorrow will be going to Lowe's to get a new disposer. Oh Joy! Actually I'm looking forward to it cause I want to look at some vanity tops to replace those in our bathrooms. Some of the sinks have begun to crack, and we can't sell the house with those! Lowe's is one of the companies that is going out of its way to help out their employees who are Reservists, so I figure I'll give them my business!
I'm going to see if I can talk SSQ into buying a new toilet for the kids bathroom upstairs. The builder put the cheapest one he could find when he built this place and the stupid thing backs up all the time! We're getting Toto toities in the new house. They're more expensive, but they actually WORK!

FAE? See if you can get a nice strategic location near a tv camera. What GWB is really waiting for is dwarf-moot. One blast towards Iraq and it's all over...
To: SuziQ; HairOfTheDog
I guess she's not a fan of the campfire scene in "Blazing Saddles" then, huh? Or the seen in "10" where the guy tells Dudley Moore that everytime the (old woman) housekeeper breaks wind they beat the dog? (Was that "10" or was that "Foul Play?")
To: HairOfTheDog; g'nad; Overtaxed
I think they know how to behave, we just have to make them want to! You know if we keep this up, none of you will come near us at Entmoot!
