The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I've spoiled her on wet food I'm afraid. I'll have to get my laser mouse back....she likes chasing that.

Good morning everyone!
I've got some fried eggs and bacon ready for the Hole Dwellers, along with some biscuits and hash browns. Fresh steaming coffee or hot cocoa is ready to serve and y'all know where the juices are already. ENJOY!
Corin - I love the lavender Elf shoes. They would really bring out the color of Elrond's eyes, doncha think? ;)
2J - Happy Early Birthday, sis! Weekends are unpredictable for me as far as online time goes, so I wanted to be sure to give you my best wishes in advance!
g'nad - Welcome back! You missed the skivvieless Man of Gondor's beating after he spammed his way to the quadruple Precious. Careful, Hair's been loose with that stick of hers lately. *grin*
300winmag - Prayers on the way for your brother. Keep us posted on how he's doing please.
My cousin is still in the hospital undergoing treatment. Last I heard, he's feeling pretty sick cuz of the chemo, but the docs are still very optimistic!

Thanks, I was thinking smaller 'cause I didn't want the dirt washing through. But the rocks OT suggested should help that.
To: RMDupree
Mornin' Ruthy. Thanks fer breakfast.

You said you were planting the other day. And that your neighborhood cats were enjoying the catnip already. So, your wooded lot might need the rain.
However, I would rather have a good race day anytime!

I kind of like "Vichy Chicks".How very appropriate!

Don't forget, as the weather gets hotter you'll want to have these pots sitting in some kind of saucer (or anything that'll hold a little drainage water). And if the holes are letting a little soil out it'll only go into the saucer. But, if they're too little and clog up, it might drown your plant before you realize and even if you figure it out and try to unclog it's a pain after you've got dirt and plant in there. (does this sound like the voice of experience? i hate it when that happens)

gee... the missus is gonna be angry... she's been doin' it the hard way...Yeah, I heard that!!
I saw the thread about Dillon's heart transplant yesterday. Do you have any more recent news on his condition?
To: RMDupree
YUM! Bacon, biscuits and hashbrowns!
Good morning. The main thing is that doctor's optimism. (along with all the prayers of course) This is going to be another good news story for us Ruthy.

Marl and her horses ignore them, but if I'm there and the A-10s are putting on an air show, I run out into the field and jump and scream and wave my arms as they zoom past me.LOL!!! The boys and I do the same thing, except out in our front yard. We must be in some sort of flight path, because we see them all the time, as many as 4 choppers sometimes either coming or going in the same direction.
I've considered painting some encouraging sign on my roof, but Steve would probably object! LOL

Sheesh! This is starting to sound like
work! (but thanks)
My M-I-L is pretty good with plants, so she'll be here to help. But I really want to learn to do this on my own.

But I really want to learn to do this on my own.Practice some before she gets there, then maybe it is something y'all could do together! Might help her feel more at home if she can have a little garden, even if it is the container kind!

I would rather have a good race day anytime! It always seems to rain on the weekends when I could get a lot of outdoor work done.

no... but I don't expect Betsy to take the time to call or e-mail right now... I will let you know if we hear anything...
To: Wneighbor
Yippeee! We don't take spring break, but since my birthday falls on a Sat. this time, I still get the day off!
It's looking pretty grim, though...Steve told me he couldn't come home to take us out tonight...his paper, you know...he won't be in till after 10pm. Now back in the old days, this wouldn't have been a problem, because night life didn't get started till 10pm...but the reality is now I'm 40, going out and doing anything at 10pm isn't really what I want to do...unless it's the premiere of ROTK...
Maybe I'll get my dad and go watch the planes at the armory...he's a pilot.
