Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I will see it again... hope my opinion changes... I hope so too g'nad. I didn't like the jokes till the second time around... And it moves so fast I just didn't savor a lot that was right. It is easier to remember stuff you didn't like.
I bet you will find more to like on view two.
2J - have you taken Matthew yet?
To: HairOfTheDog
Not yet! With MIL here, it's been busy! She's a baking fiend and we've got baked good coming out our ears! I think we're pretty well snowed "in" today.
To: Overtaxed; HairOfTheDog; Corin Stormhands
Well, I gotta go...see you all later!

To: HairOfTheDog

Merry Christmas to you too!
Love the hats!
To: g'nad
Well, there you go... it is a common mistake! ;~D
To: NewCenturions
Heh. Thanks! (I drew the hats myself!)
To: g'nad; HairOfTheDog
well... the marquee said The Twin Towers....*sigh* I just don't understand some theatre owners. If you are going to go to the trouble of owning a theatre I'd think that you would at least attempt to put the correct title on the marquee.

Good morning to all!
Breakfast today is scrambled eggs and bacon, hash browns and pancakes. Coffee is ready and piping hot. As always, orange juice, tea and hot chocolate are available for non-Java drinkers in the Hole.
Corin - Merry Christmas, Master Dwarf. Or should I say, Wizard? :)
g'nad - I'm sorry you were disappointed. I found that in order to enjoy the movie version of TTT, I had to take it for what it is - PJ's translation of the story via film with liberties taken for both time constraints and broader audience appeal. I think that it is safe to say that nothing short of a 48 hour LoTR epic film covering every last detail would satisfy any of us fully. But, IMHO, PJ did pretty well considering what he was trying to accomplish. At the very least, we avoided Yoda/Smeagol and Jar Jar Treebeard. Our CGI characters were wonderful!
As for both of you and my other friends here in the Hobbit Hole, let me say that I am so blessed to have you in my life. Here, in this Christmas season, we celebrate the birth of Christ and the redemption He brought to Mankind. He was, is and always will be looking out for us, and He brought us into each other's company to bless us all with friends we can share our daily lives with, get support from and encourage one another when times are tough.
But let us always thank Him for guiding us to this moment, to this fellowship, in this, our Hobbit Hole.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
To: RMDupree
*hoists a pint*
Hear hear!
Merry Christmas to all of my Hobbit Hole friends!
To: RMDupree
Mmmmmmm......hash browns....
To: 2Jedismom
2JM: same with me but we sit on the left side of the theatre, so the rest of the audience is on the right side, and with Sue on my left, she can fill me in. Benefit is I'm not bothered by the 'nattering nabobs'.

since we're gettin all mushy...
It's been an interesting year, full of ups and downs... but through it all, one thing has remained constant... the hospitality and friendship that I have found here... Thank you all very, very much... God bless you all...
Merry Christmas...
