Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Nope, nothing happening here...that I know of anyway. Am checking the news, but don't think anything's going on around here...

A basketball game.
To: Overtaxed
Ahhh...I thought it was like D and D or something! LOL
To: Penny1
Yeah - I switched over to local news too... Not much. Little protest at Westlake.
To: 2Jedismom
Now you think OT might be playin D & D? ROTFL!
To: HairOfTheDog; 2Jedismom
You mean you've never heard of Wake Forest University?
To: Overtaxed
No! Never have!
It's probably a big place, huh? I'm probably really ignorant!
To: 2Jedismom
Well....it started actually in Wake Forest. The RJ Reynolds paid them all this money to move to Winston-Salem but they kept the name.
It's a Baptist school...thought you might have heard of it. :)
To: 2Jedismom
OK - The horses are fed... Put them in early since it is so nasty out.

I set the VCR up in my room and bedded the boys down in there. They are watching Dinosaurs.

Nurse question!
I am still dealing with dull aching all over. My back mostly, and my legs. I think it is leftovers from the 'bug' I had Monday, I have been kinda achy ever since. But I also may have pulled my back a bit moving hay bales around.
I took Tylenol this morning, and I don't think that really helped.
I just took Aleve now (three of them)... Might that do better, or should I have taken something else?
I am sitting with a heating pad on my back.
To: Overtaxed
Now that you mention it, I do recall hearing about it! But just not often enough to realize what it was!
To: HairOfTheDog
Aleve is very strong medicine and really hasn't been "over the counter" very long. It shouldn't be taken more than is recommended on the label. You're as bad as Steve! Don't take any more for a while...at least 12 hours. Drink lots of fluids. Get it out of your system.
Two is the prescription strength tablet strength...
To: HairOfTheDog
Now that I've finished scolding you...Aleve is the best thing for you to take. It not only makes you feel better, it's an anti-inflammitory so it will help you heal.
But only take TWO at the most!!

[shuffle]
ooooKaaaaaaaaay mom!
(I figured if two was good three would be better!)
To: HairOfTheDog
I don't think it's very good for your liver...that's why I say drink lots of fluids and surely
surely don't drink any ANY alcohol for a while.
Drink a full glass of water with each dose. Adults: Take 1 tablet every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms persist. For the first dose you may take 2 caplets within the first hour. The smallest effective dose should be used. Do not take more than: 2 tablets in any 8 to 12 hour period. 3 caplets in a 24 hour period.
If I were you, I would not take any more...till 24 hours is up. Drink lots of fluids.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'll never forget Steve telling me he'd taken like FOUR extra Strength tylenols, right after he swilled down a big dose of Nyquil! Aaarrrghhhh! His poor liver has been through so much ANYWAY!! Then he did this to it??
I received the Wade Garret tool catalog today. Mostly yuppie-priced woodworking supplies ($350 planes, $100 hand forged, laser-trimmed, cryo-treated blades), clamps, jigs, wood finishes, etc. But they also have a page of axes, including this little honey here. It's a fireman's demolition axe, and just might appeal to certain characters here.
To: 300winmag
That is a very tidy looking axe you have there!
