The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Glenn Beck just had a caller from Tulsa report in about the rally.

Oh! What did they say, approximately? Where they tickled? The rally was really great. Now the news is reporting between 4-5 thousand people. I just know the stands were packed.

well... you know the problem... and you know the solution... so do somethin' about it... no matter how unpleasant...

In other words, quit my yammerin' and deal with it? ;-)

Probably right...at least I have some motivation in that I wanna go to a mandolin camp this summer, and I'll be seeing people I was at camp with two years ago...so I at least should get back to where I was then.

I wonder how many calories you burn while playing an instrument? Probably not that many unless it's drums or something, I guess...but maybe it counts for SOMEthing?

Yeah, he was pretty happy. Said there were about 4,000 people. Beck is mostly talking about the rallies he attended in San Antonio, Houston and Cleveland. He also just mentioned that there was no national coverage and the way to get the message to the troops was to post pics online and send 'em. Maybe through your letter project or something g'nad has we can push that.

I'm not sure where this story came from, but he was talking about a soldier in the Gulf who said they've renamed the Operation. At first it sounded like he said "Operation Justice."

What he said they were calling it is "Operation Just Us."

We can't let the liberal media communist scum control this message.

Well, I am pretty sure that cold weather causes you to burn calories, only it's so cold where you are, that you can hardly safely stay out in it.

"He also just mentioned that there was no national coverage"

That is so infuriating, esp. when you consider that even a small leftist demonstration, like 10 NOW members, gets national press.

If they don't succeed in brainwashing everyone, I think the news media could become irrelevant too, which would be nice.

Sorry to hear of the problems. I do say a prayer every day, for Bush, and for the soldiers going in to war. God bless you and I will say a few words on your behalf to the Big Guy.

Did any alphabetic news agency (or ANA?) carry the L.A. rally? Haven't had the time all weekend to watch the news.
