Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Oh, I took that flowery thing down. You had to duck to get into the shower with it up anyways and that was annoying!
I'm still going to decorate the room with peas, though...I just can't let the "pea" theme go. I think it's hysterical.

Good morning! I'm still catching up on posts...didn't spend much time here over the last three or four days.
G'nad...thanks for sharing your story...you are an inspiration, as Sam said. I'll keep you and yours in my prayers as you head towards a new stage in life.
I should probably join the diet challenge thing...in my case I could probably stand to lose ten pounds or so, but even more, need to get back in shape. Trouble is that I find indoor exercise excessively boring, and don't really do any winter sports. It's been too cold, anyway! It was -17 this morning with a -36 windchill (really blowing out there)...March doesn't feel much different from January this year. Ugh.
But in any case, I could use some group motivation!
In four days I'm gonna see Patrick Street!! (With my very favorite fiddler in the whole wide universe, Kevin Burke!) And Lunasa two weeks afterwards!!!

You ever try Spinning?... it's intense aerobics on a special stationary bike... with the proper, sadistic instructor, it can be quite... memorable...

Josh was kinda overwhelmed by the event, but Matthew knew just what to do!
At one point, Inhofe was talking about the French and Matthew shouted "Cheese Eatin' Sur---" before I could slap my hand over his mouth. Everyone around us knew what he was going to shout and just died laughing.

Good morning everyone!
Lemme get breakfast on for the hungry Hole Dwellers! :)
Ham and cheese omelets with bacon strips and sausage links. Fresh pastries from the local baker, as well as, flapjacks with maple syrup. I know, I know - not exactly diet food, but for those of us on the Hobbit Hole Diet Plan, I've cut up some fresh fruit: Melons, strawberries, bluberries, pineapple and grapes. Fresh squeezed orange juice is in the icebox. ENJOY!
Had a rough weekend with some personal problems I have going on in my life. Please keep me in your prayers while I try to get through it. I'd really appreciate it!
Gotta get some work done, but I should be able to hang around a bit today.

You ever try Spinning?... it's intense aerobics on a special stationary bike... with the proper, sadistic instructor, it can be quite... memorable...I've heard of it, and actually my exercise bike is a spinner bike, but I've never done the class thing. Maybe that's my problem...I always go it alone and end up so bored I can't stick to any plan. In the summer I hike and bike and such, but in the winter I end up more or less hibernating. Not good!
