The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

That was ME telling 2J about the Kool Aid ice cubes!

LOL! - I did think it was an unusual comment from a newbie, to jump right in raving about the ice cubes!

"Cooking is very dangerous! "

I agree. That's why I avoid it as much as is humanly possible.:)

It would be fun, and we can all look forward to showing our new selves off at Entmoot! ;)

Should we all bring 'before' pictures? ;o)

Raised a big old blister up on my finger. My last burn just shrivelled...no blister.

Hair mentioned putting markers for the fence. Most companies will put little flags just inside the perimeter of the fence line so the dog can get used to the boundary. Our neighbors have one and the dogs are just used to it!

Certainly! We all need all the support we can get! I think we should have a little competitive edge to it to keep us all motivated, but I haven't figured out the best way yet, in case you have ideas. There is some reluctance to the idea of actually publishing weight. I think weight lost per week would be OK!

So, er, your daughter is a magical fox?

Ah, so you know Japanese? I think it is a character in an Anime, is that right?

She and a friend went to a small Anime-con up in Manchester NH yesterday. They decided on the way back that they'd see if their Anime Club might like to try to put on a small convention here in our town next year. We're taking them to Boston and staying overnight for a really big Anime-con coming up in April. She's been getting pieces for her costume. She's going as 'Dark'; I know it's a guy, but the costume sounds cool. We were able to find her long (23") black satin gloves and a set of black feather wings! I'm going to make a black tunic for her to wear. Her friend is thinking of going as Inu Yasha.

They're having fun with it, but as a popular sentiment dealing with the genre says, "Anime - Crack is cheaper"!
