Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hey, I'm washing my shower curtain now! And I'm going to take down that flowery outer curtain...I've been looking at it skeptically ever since g'nad said he didn't like it. Too girly, I think he said. Well, I live with three guys and I don't want a girly bathroom, you know?

The curtain underneath is just plain cream colored...It'll do fine, by it's self.

WHAT the HECK has been going on here? You'd think it was Friday or something!

It was a long week but we're at the end of it now. I am just about to make some major decisions about my physical appearance, which I am rather unhappy with right now. I want - well, I want to be pretty and several pounds lighter. I like my face well enough now that my acne has gone, but my hair is too dull. I'm thinking of dying it and maybe getting a bit of wave. Also I am seriously considering contacts. That's a major step, though, much bigger than going on a diet because I have a phobia about eyes and hate anything touching them. But...

oh, well. I think I'm mostly just antsy for my life to start!

Here's a funny story about my mom that she doesn't mind me telling...

The first time she got on skis, she skied right up on top of some big man's skis, practically locked together stomach to stomach. My dad had to take his skis off, walk over and pick her up around the waist and haul her off the guy's skis! LOL It was really funny. But she never skied again. We went skiing several times after that and she always bought a brand new ski outfit, the pants and everything...but she didn't ski. The last time we went, she bought the pants she's wearing walking behind me on my profile page. At the protest.

I could lose some pounds myself. I have put on 'several' in the last year. How about we have a Hobbit Hole diet challenge.... something to keep those that are interested motivated! Proofs and measures to be determined!

Hi Jen!

I loved my contacts, and my eyes got adjusted to them after a while and I could literally lay my finger in my eye and it wouldn't bother me.

But then I had that radial keratatomy, way long time ago in the early 80s. They did it with a diamond pointed knife back then...it's done with lasers now.

My vision before my surgery was 20/2700 (normal being 20/20 of course). Now it's 20/20 in my right eye, 20/30 in my left. NICE!

LOL! - I casn see that happening! - and it probably wasn't completely an accident! - she probably went for the closest thing that would slow her down!

I was actually thinking about that! Remember last November, when some of us did "National Crap Writing Month"? I was so motivated because there were other people in on it!

I would suggest, if anyone is interested, that we don't have to specify current weights or necessarily how much to lose - just, say, percentages lost so far.

Hey! We can get in shape before EntMoot. After all we don't really want to look like a bunch of hobbits, do we?

Let me think about it. I think we might need to fess up more than that. I don't own a scale, but I could get one. Lets see if there are more that want to play, or if it is just us!

I - uh, don't think I want my weight to be common knowledge. At least I don't look as if I weigh as much as I do....

But I haven't worn a bathing suit in a year.

I understand the phobia about things touching your eyes, I have that too. But I know people get over it! I don't have to worry about that one, luckily.
