Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Back from Farmer Maggot's and what do I find?
The Dwarves have devoured everything in record time.
Did they chip the glasses? Did they crack the plates?
I suppose that other Hobbits have suffered worser fates.
Let me get more bacon fried up in a hurry
It will be done soon Pip, so you don't have to worry
Just stick around for an elevenses meal
I'm sauteeing mushrooms (the ones bought at a steal!)
I'm frying up T-bones for a good noon-time lunch
The po-ta-toes are baking, they'll be ready to munch
I've got a lot left in that big pot of stew
Here's a big bowl I've prepared just for you!
Now my dear Dwarves, about your poor manners
Your belches and curses you bandy like banners
Why do you wish to spoil our appetite?
Just being a Dwarf does not make it right!
Let me get finished with all of the food
I trust that the Dwarves will not be rude.
I'm sure they will save some lunch for the rest.
They'll behave since they know that I love them the best!
