The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Is it coffee time yet?
To: Overtaxed
Yep! I'm here and it took half the cup to read through!
Did you see that g'nad is only just about as far from you as he is from me? We could possibly someday moot there...or caravan to The Moot for ROTK?
To: 2Jedismom
Well...assuming I decide to take the Stilwell gig. I just told them I'd think about it. :)
To: g'nad
it's a little he-dwarvling... Baruk Khazad!Woo Hoo! So glad the missus and the little one are doing well.
How exciting to see the movie with someone who's actually BEEN in those places! It is breathtaking country!

Happy belated Anniversary, 2J!! May you and Steve have countless more, each increasing in peace & happiness!
Just now catching up on the posts, but couldn't pass up replying to this one! :)

Do you have any reason for staying in NC? Family? Significant other?
I would move in a heart beat just for the heck of it if it weren't for all the ties I have here...my folks living down the street and such. My boys just adore them (astoundingly) and it would be really hard for me to rip them from them.
Otherwise, I'm a pretty fluid person...I like to get up and move. Someday I hope to have a winabago or something and just go go go!
To: RMDupree; All
Thanks for all the good wishes. We had a good day, although nothing special...because we really did celebrate the occassion along with the release of TTT. You know, my parents took care of the boys and we only impose on them very rarely, so letting them stay overnight and all was quite different and the boys thought it was quite a treat!

the good news is, I'll need to forge another axe, it's a little he-dwarvling... Baruk Khazad! CONGRATULATIONS G'NAD!!! Wooo-hooooooo!
Pics! Pics! Did you get any ultrasound pics?!
To: 2Jedismom
Do you have any reason for staying in NC? Yep....family. A brother and sister about 60 miles away, Dad's whole side of the family (Mom's is in Massachusetts), got property here (not just my house on the wooded lot), I don't like moving in particular, cat doesn't like riding in the car..... I don't know anyone from KS...except for osagebowman. At least on posting terms. :)

Becky is doing much better today. Yesterday I only let her have a few small cups of ginger ale, a banana, some plain toast, a bit of oatmeal and then finally relented for dinner and gave her some honey roasted turkey and Grands biscuits.
She kept everything down, so I believe the worst is over. I just hope the baby doesn't get it. Those stomach bugs are tricksy with infants.

I'll need to forge another axe, it's a little he-dwarvling... Baruk Khazad! I can already picture the little guy! Congratulations!
Check in with us after the movie!

Could we try keeping it on this thread this time? Maybe that will help participation.I would be OK either way! - It would be a messier Green Dragon, but we would get more participation from the regulars, which is what I would enjoy the most enyway!
To: SuziQ
Thank you ma'am... I plan on grillin' Mick after the movie...
and I'm takin' a sharp knife fer any waggin' tongues durin' the movie...

OK, all caught up finally.
I know the hour is late, but let's have something to eat (call it whatever you like, it's almost elevenses here!).
Egg, ham and cheese croissants (or biscuits), bacon and sausage links. Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Hot chocolate or coffee. And plenty of orange juice too, if you take a liking to that. ENJOY!
I started FoTR last night (book) to get ready for the TTT reading Hair spoke of beginning on January 1st. I'm thinking that January 6th might be better as a starting date, simply because the holidays will be officially over and folks will be back to the "normal" schedules by that point.
What do you all think?
Also, regarding Entmoot - if ksen's garage will be ready and he is still willing to host us for the FoTR & TTT viewing before RoTK, that would be the best idea. That way, we can schedule "intermissions" and stop the movies whenever we vote to take a break to stretch out, see a man about a horse or order food. :)
Otherwise, renting a conference room is still a viable option.
