The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I love peanut butter, but am not sure it has much protein. There is even a "peanut butter diet."
Am reading Damnation Alley, looked for a book with Zelaszny's name after hearing you mention it. They didn't have the amber series.
To: Sam Cree
Heh, I think peanut butter is pretty rich in protein actually. But it's too late at night for me to go Googling up the actual information.
Damnation Alley was one of Zelazny's few attempts at a pure action-adventure story, and an OK story IMHO. Hollywood made a bad movie out of it in the 70s, starring Jan Michael Vincent. As Zelazny himself said, the only good thing about the movie was the money they paid him for the film rights; it enabled him to pay off his house, so he didn't mind too much.
I've tried watching the Senate filibuster on CSPAN, but the endless name-calling is putting me to sleep, so I think I'll go to bed. Have a good night!

Apparently peanut butter is 26% protein, which means that 2 tablespoons gives you 13% of your daily requirement of it.

Goooooooood Moooooooorning Hobbit Hoooooooole!
Another busy one today, hopefully I'll be able to wash my hands of the project soon.
Snow-wise more hype than white stuff so far. But then, the last storm did raise the bar a little. :)

Good Morning!
We have a bit of ice today but the roads are pretty much wet except for bridges and overpasses.
Looks like we had some visitors in the night.
To: Overtaxed
Should be around 80 here this afternoon, sunny.
Squirrel visitors? How did you get rid of the tree, in the end?
Good morning everyone.
To: jdontom
No shoe removal is necessary, just the desire for a warm comfortable place to hang out.

There is even a "peanut butter diet." WHOA! Clue me in to that one Sam. I haven't had peanut butter in over 6 wks. I grew up on the stuff.

I think, counting lurkers you'll find FR way above the 17,000 number.
Welcome to the Hobbit Hole! Shoes (and skivvies) are optional.

Morning.
We have about 2 inches. Schools are closed and my office is opening 2 hrs. late, so we all slept in. I gotta leave in a few minutes.

Good morning!
I think when new folk are around we should all wear skivvies.

How did you get rid of the tree, in the end? The guy I'm getting to do some repairs to a porch cut it up for me. :)

Good morning!
How nice to see some new faces in the Hole! I've pinged them to breakfast so they can have a bite before venturing out into the Wilds of FR! :)
Scrambled eggs and buttered toast with or without jelly, 5 platters of bacon and sausage patties, hash browns and several flavors of fresh baked muffins. Hot steaming coffee is ready, along with hot cocoa and assorted juices. ENJOY!
Still pretty busy here at work, but I'll be lurking and trying desperately to keep up with the posts.
On a side note, one of my favorite contestants on American Idol made it through to the top 10 last night! Joshua Gracin is a US Marine and a fabulous singer. He gets my vote until the bitter end. Go JOSH!

To: Dawntreader
I saw that on the headlines this morning. How very sad. :(

You'll be missed, Fred.
To: RMDupree
Josh is GREAT! What a voice!
To: RMDupree
Thanks for the breakfast. I've have given up trying to keep up with the posts. I just close my eyes and pick on and start from there. Morning all.
