The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I sent you a txt document with the html to embed a player like the one I embedded into that Lark in the morning thread...
And I linked it to my private files on yahoo...should work better...
Let me try it in the test forum and then you can edit it in, if you like...

I can always go back and change it to "embed" with Autostart=True.
To: Overtaxed
I sent it in your regular email.

It didn't embed the player though...and that link isn't reliable. Use the text that I sent...that one will work better and if you want to change it to "true", well, I'd think that was dandy!

Well, it was a good speech. I get the distinct impression I should hold on to my seat. Something is fixin' to happen.
I'll be here when it does.
Steve still isn't in from work. I'm going to bathe the boys.

Just basically laying out the whys and such...much like the State of the Union, and still calling on the UN to do it's part.
Sounded like a "get ready" to me.
I'm feeling terrible. Got a migraine. Took one of Steve's pain pills from when he had his tooth pulled...just a half of one, even. Now I have a migraine but don't care.
My car is still in the shop. Had to put a new radiator in.

Oh, I'm sorry you've got a migraine. Um, maybe it's a good thing right now your car is in the shop. Don't want you driving around medicated to the gills!

Yeah...I wouldn't drive anywhere like this...but I'm not even all that doped up. Just kinda blah, you know? I'm worse when I take a Benadryl! LOL I swear, I can't even keep my eyes open!
Josh is in the tub now...I don't think I'll bathe him...just let him splash around. He didn't do anything to get all that dirty.

Hullo all!
I'll post this, then I have to put the little one to bed.
I was gonna go with the Mrs. to church and help lead worship then leave while she went on to choir practice (they're at the same time, so when we lead we're late for choir). But when I got home she was all discombobulated 'cause Jr. was being 13 (more in a sec) and the little one was being three.
So it ended up that I was gonna stay home with the 3-year-old and she'd take Jr. on to church so he could go to youth group. At 6:30 her sister called and said her husband drove by the church and two guys were out front telling people that all services were cancelled due to the snow (we've got about 1-2 inches since about 4:00 p.m.)
At 6:55 (church starts at 7:00) we got a call from the director of the music academy who thought we had called (weird?).
Apparently the two guys out front were just two teenagers having a good time! All services were on as usual!
Mrs. hasn't quite recovered from her afternoon, but I'm laughing myself silly (on the inside of course).
Jr. was po'd with "friends" who want to start a band. They've told him if he didn't have drums by a certain date he couldn't be in "their" band (you know the one that's gonna practice in OUR garage).
Of course, out of the five of them, he's the only one who can actually PLAY an instrument. I'd tell 'em to take a hike, but Jr. can't do that (yet). They're just being 12 and 13 as well, but I wanna kick 'em down the street...
Back later.

LOL But I did a poor job of it tonight.
I'm a fiend about bathing in the evening. Nobody goes to bed dirty around here! LOL When Matthew was a tiny tiny baby, I was bathing him before bed and my mom looked over my shoulder and said "I don't know what that poor baby ever did to deserve such a scrubbin'!" But I really think it helps them sleep...the warm water relaxes them.
There is just nothing better than taking a nice warm bath and getting into a nice clean bed, if you have trouble sleeping, which little ones often do. Even just now, Joshua was half asleep before I even finished reading their Hardy Boys to them!

You're letting 13 year old boys practice in your garage? Are you crazy or just deaf?
Hope you don't get yourself booted from FR. Stay out of those dark places!

What kind of peanut butter do you like.Well, I'm not all that big a fan of peanut butter, but when I do occasionally get a taste for it pretty much any variety of smooth will do.
My tagline was a quote from a book I like, Doorways in the Sand, by Roger Zelazny. In a particularly surreal scene, the protagonist of the book has just been rescued from the Australian outback by two extraterrestrials in disguise:
"I say," came a strange voice, "would you care for a peanut-butter sandwich?"
Pieces of broken reverie fell all about me. Gagging, I gained a new perspective on the ground and the long shadows that lay across it.
Because of the peculiar outline I had regarded, I was not completely surprised when I raised my head and saw a six-foot-plus kangaroo standing beside the wombat. It considered me through a pair of dark glasses as it removed a sandwich bag from its pouch.
"Peanut butter is rich in protein," it said.
I liked the line and was just too lazy to change it, so I left it for a while. After a while, I began to wonder if anyone would ask what the heck my tagline was all about.
Thanks for asking! :)
