Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Morning All! How's the weather?

We got nothing here last night. North and west got snow. I think g'nad probably got somewhere between 1-4 inches. We're supposed to get snow later today and tonight.

Morning- just starting to snow again. They only expect an inch or two today with more tonight. Folks are in an uproar because the schools *forgave* the four snow days in light of the fact it was a "State of Emergency". I'm just irritated that I'm not teaching anymore- I was soooooo shortchanged of snowdays! LOL!

Anyhoo, I'm still swamped at work, but I'll try to keep up with the thread.

LOL I have NO idea! LOL

But I have a recipe book called "Flowers in the Kitchen" which has various recipes using flowers of all kinds of plants...daylilies were included, amazingly enough...I think you use the unopened buds in a sautee with mushrooms...I can get it for you if you like.

I'm in to weird schtuff like that...

Just bought a Thai/Vietnamese recipe book...apparently written up by the owner of a Thai restaurant in San Francisco (I think) called "Lemon Grass."

Now if only my kaffir lime tree will grow back...

Too cold here for anything to grow...when it's THIS cold, not even the slush deposits on my car grow.

In Virginia the rule is if you miss less than 10, you have to make them all up. If you miss 10, you have to make up 5. There's an adjustable scale to go on up from there.

My county has missed nine days total (2 of them during the sniper attacks). But they've made up most of them. Right now they only have to make up one more day. BUT, if they miss another day, they're set.
