The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Is Tami OK, Kevin?

Yes, she is doing alright. We are still waiting on a call back from the Dr.'s office.

Do keep us informed. I've been praying for her....

And on a lighter note, today is my two-year posting anniversary! (I lurked here for months before signing up). I guess that means I'm not a newbie anymore!

Sheesh! Now the phone is out. We didn't know, and I'd obviously been on the phone this a.m., but a neighbor came by. He said he'd checked with about 5 other neighbors...all out.

He called the phone company on his cell. They said "we have no indication that it's an outside line, so we won't send anyone until Monday."

He is now systematically checking with all the neighbors and calling again when he finds another one out.

Hair: That is quite a story; Zulu is quite a lucky lady to make it through that.

BTW, don't worry about obsessing with her on the Hole, heck, that's what friends are for.

We are nothing if not obsessive friends!

Zulu is up, and I think decidedly more chipper today. I guess she can live awhile longer! Gotta go do chores.... see ya later!

I need to go shopping. :)

I pulled out some pizza dough and tomatoes out of the freezer so it's pizza tonight. For lunch I just made oyster stew.

The race is delayed....

Hullo, all! Back from Borders, where I splurged and got three new books. Also my siblings bought a SpongeBob DVD with 10 episodes on. *cries*.

Hello! Huddled inside watching it drip out there...we're supposed to get snow, sleet and freezing rain with "significant icing", whatever that means.

My poor puppy had to get a shot today. She's being very clingy.

Condolences on the SpongeBob purchase, Jen! I haven't ever seen Sponge Bob, but had to live through a younger sister who liked Barney! (YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!) I don't know if Sponge Bob is better or worse...can't see how he COULD be much worse...

It means don't park your car under a tree. :)
