Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

The new head of INS?
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
Well, if she is "illegal" then the whole thing is a farce and people would be right to criticize, but if, on the other hand, as Suzi says above, it was a charitable relief effort undertaken on this poor girl's behalf, then I have no problem with that whatsoever.Well cleft palate is one thing. The big argument is about giving illegals/non-citizens scarce organs when there are citizens on the waiting lists.

Yikes!!!!

a real laugh out loud moment. I think Joaquin Phoenix was good in this movie.I agree with both sentiments. :) For me, "Signs" wasn't so much scary as it was creepy... a feeling of dread and tension that built up right until the end. I liked it a lot.

Good point. The two are definitely not equivalent... I haven't thought it all through yet, obviously. Just Friday afternoon FReeping dontcha know.... hopping and boppin from thread to thread

I didn't realize the boy was that McCauley Culkin's brother...or however you spell it.

Wee Hee! Miller Time on Friday. Talk to ya in a bit.
To: 2Jedismom
the boy was that McCauley Culkin's brotherYes, it was his younger brother Rory. Once I knew they were brothers I could see a family resemblance between the two.

Well, I just found out I didn't get the position to edit the web site that I'd been working on. Apparently, they wanted less opinion, more "issue pages."
So I wrote this back (I wrote more, but I ended with this):
As far as your site description went, it was clear from the beginning that you wanted "conservative views" of issues that are important to liberals. You think I couldn't see through it when you told the person applying to edit the conservative site that you wanted me to cover "abortion rights." I think in the end, I'm too conservative for you.
But I won't keep you. You probably have an anti-war protest to get ready for.
Shoulda told 'em to pee up their whistles...

Where can I go for an affordable, but good Low D whistle?

I figured out the Bruce Willis character was dead pretty early in the movie.Same here. I noticed that nobody besides the boy ever interacted with him.

Oop! I thought the Mahoney guy was connected to the RI fire. My Bad!

Gotta run. See y'all later.

Maybe elderly.com?That always makes me laugh. Do they think it is only old folks who want to play the whistles?
To: SuziQ
But I didn't lose anyone in the fire, that I know of, so I guess that's easy for me to say. Well, I think the best rules are rules written by people who have no stake in it and are objective. Law is meant to take the emotions of the grieved out of it. I agree with you about what I think is an overly litigious society we have become... and I am in a little bit of trouble for saying so on a thread.
To: 2Jedismom; SuziQ
Thanks! I'll check it more when I have more time.
And I was LOL at the website name. It is a weird name for that site!
Gosh...I see the death toll has risen to 95! :-(

Shoulda told 'em to pee up their whistles... I think you did!

But did they blow it out their shorts?
