The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thanks, Corin, but I'm English enough to know what the English are like! It's the whole traveling thing I am having trouble with.
By the way, that rabbit is not scary. Not after Sluggy Freelance and "Bun-Bun", anyway.

I was just telling Utah Girl about how I pulled up beside this really deluxe H2 Hummer last night in my church parking lot. I truly stood in amazement when I saw it. It was positively the most deluxe automobile I have ever seen. It was a champagne color and had taupe leather interior, all the bells and whistles you could want in a luxury car...but it looked like it could mow down an 2-story building if nessessary.
I parked beside it and got out of my minivan and I felt like I'd stepped out of a little volkswagan bug or something...I was just dwarved (no offense corin, g'nad and vim) by this monster of a car.
I have to say...I loved it. They cost what? More than 50K? If you can afford one, I seriously don't know why you'd bother with anything else.

For some reason the part in TTT where the Warg takes out Hama reminds me of the attack of the Rabbit.

Noooewwwww....
LOL
When I stepped out of my van, the little thing on the side that said "H2" was almost at my eye level! I was just tall enough to peer into the window. I didn't care who saw me. I figure if someone goes out and buys a tank like that, they gotta expect people are going to gawk!

The H2s are around $50,000.... Cheaper than most of the Mercedes you see around.
An improvement. The H1s were $100,000!
To: Overtaxed
Yes...I think she's trying to tell me she's lost her mind.

I don't know...I just think she thought it was cute. I wrote her back and told her it was silly.

Steve is working on school, he's at the OSU library. Won't be home till late again tonight. Sigh...I only see him on Friday evening, Sat and Sunday...
I'm tempted to get up with him in the morning...

Josh loved it. He's sitting here on my lap, waiting for Matthew to get out of the tub. Then they are going to bed.
I'll probably go to bed early...here in a couple of hours...since I got up at the ever-lovin' crack of dawn.

Well, the H1's have 4 independent axles, and no differentials hanging down to get snagged on rocks, they area far superior to the H2's, in that way, I think, never having been in one.
'Course they are a little wide for driving through the woods. However, I am pretty happy with my 4x4 Dodge pickup, has 90,000 miles, and ought to go that many more.
Your mom likes the computer too?
I am in a very good frame of mind, everyone, from visiting daughter, think she had a nice time too.
To: Sam Cree
Hi Sam! I was wondering today whether you were home yet. Glad to hear that you had a good time.
