The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I did get the plastic cut for the windows, attic fan and vents in the back part of the house. I've decided to section off the back part, because the front part would be just too hard to secure.

We have a intake vent in our ceiling in our hall...I plan on taping the plastic to it, not including it, but using the edge of it to secure the plastic...be easier than taping it to the ceiling. It spans the entire width of our hall. Then sealing off the hall, if nessesary.

Turn on your targeting (F), and throw a rock high and far towards the direction you came from, which will cause the Nazgul to run past you, up the hill.

Sounds reasonable! That's how it happened in the mooooovie!

"If you find yourself without a date or a love on Valentines day"

Well, I'd LIKE to join you guys but I did get valentines from an 8 year old nephew and one from my car insurance agent so I guess that makes me exempt(?) That, and the fact that I can't always get into that darned chat room! (could it be the Windows95 with 32MB RAM?)

Hair, didn't you have a demo version of the game? Where did you get it? Now that I have a high speed connection, maybe I can try it out at some point...I'm not much of a gamer, but I'd kinda like to just SEE it.

Just heard on the radio that a major portion of the info Homeland Security used to bring us to "Orange" was found out to be a *gasp!* lie!

Imagine that, an Al-Quaeda operative lying to us.

Ok...I'll walk you through it.

As soon as you give the key to Gaffer, and are facing his house, go to your right, and hide behind the rock next to the house. The nazgul will ride past you from the right, up the hill towards bag end, turn, and ride back town past you. Once he's past you, sneak (hold right shift) up the hill (off the road), into Frodo's garden, and hide behind the scarecrow. The nazgul will make his round again, coming up the hill, turning and running past you. Once he's out of sight, run forward and jump over the garden fence, heading across the road, and down the little hill.

Once youre at the bottom of the hill, hide in the little crevice at the bottom, and wait for the nazgul to make his round again (he'll be behind you, up the hill).

Once he's gone past you, sneak out into the road, and go right, around the bend towards the Mill...sneaking all the way, holding to the left side of the road. Turn in towards the mill, and run up the plank behind the mill. The bridge out of Hobbiton is just past the mill, but there's another Nazgul keeping guard, and you need to get him to leave.

Turn around, so you're facing the road you just walked down, and throw a rock as far as you can. This will cause the Nazgul to run past the mill, and should now be a little waysup the road past you. Sneak out to the road, and throw another rock far and towards the right of the Nazgul, if he isn't far enough up the road.

Once you're sure he won't see you, sneak up the road (hold the left side again), and across the bridge into Bywater.

(There are no Nazgul in bywater, just a couple of wolves.) The first one you can fight. Talk to the Sharrif, and run like heck into Green country. You'll be attacked by 4 other wolves on your way out, but don't bother trying to fight them, just run like heck.

Try it! This one looks different than the one I downloaded and may not be as buggy. I am gonna try it myself. The one I had was a beta before the game was even released, so it had problems!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring demo - free game download at PC Gameworld.

""Orange" was found out to be a*gasp!* lie!"

If that's the case and it's just a false alarm, no harm done (except for the people who went overboard plastic-coated themselves). It's not such a bad thing for everyone to be on their guard and pay more attention.
