Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

No, they sure weren't... and if I really wanted to be authentic, I would go stomp around the mud puddles in the paddock some wearing the cloak.
The boots are ranger, but the vest is very hobbit. The hair will be Eowyn, I am going to wear it down and wavy. I am some kind of morphed character.

I'm packing the boy's little rolling suitcase to take to grandmas. I am so glad we went on that trip. My parents got to see how well-behaved my boys are...especially compared to other children in our family...
Mom tends to be very critical, but it's hard to be critical of little boys that are so shiningly obviously well-behaved. I know that sounds boastful, but she even mentioned it (delicately) on the way home.
I feel a lot better about leaving them, because Mom is feeling so proud of them right now.

Hey! I sure hope to see you tonight. What's your real name? I'm Kim and my hubby is Steve. Well, I have my ticket for the midnight showing now so I'm in. I don't know if I will be able to make the pizza party, but I will try. My real name is Stacy, and so as to not confuse you, I am a guy. That's one of the reasons why I choose an unambiguous pseudonym while online. :-)

This new Hole is cozy... You know, there are a lot of times when I just like to sit and read through the messages, refreshing the screen now and then to get the latest posts, without posting anything myself. It just feels... comfortable... like reading a familiar book or listening to a favorite CD.

Excellent! I'm so tickled!
Hey, my husband has blonde hair and a black (don't ask me) beard. I have shoulderlength very dark brown hair. The line has exploded just in the last couple of days, so we should hopefully have a good turnout.
Also, the radio station apparently filched out. They were supposed to come and help with the costume contest judging...
