The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Doin' your lumber today OT?

Yep....I've put it off far too long.

Thought I heard the collection truck down the street. For crying out loud! Just when you depend on gubmint workers not working weekends, they pull this stunt on you! Well they haven't been by yet so I and the neighbor are seeing how much we can get toted to the street today.

Perhaps they are going to give the branches to the poor.

Yes. The poor should be entitled to their fair share of storm debris.

They'll probably chip it so the politicians can have free mulch.

CS & HOD; I ended up with Windows XP, pretty funny as we have windows at work; I started off with DOS with Word Perfect 5.1 at home and work, had a plastic 'cheater card' for the top of the keyboard, got pretty good as the "kids" used colored dots on the key board for me, eventually didn't need them-about the time we went to Windows. Most weren't happy about it but for different reasons than mine, I just got used to the OTHER ONE. sheesh. We just got upgraded again, I usually end up with second oldest machine as its all I need. Glad I learned to type LOL (it was on a Brown Office Royal) sometimes I still miss the bell. sigh.

Oh dear. Perhaps in your windows sounds you can find a bell that will chime whenver you strike the return key!
