Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good Morning!
I can't be too much of a slacker today. The county made it to my street picking up storm debris and I still have some stuff to drag up to the curb.
I have accomplished one thing this morning: giving Miss Cat her Clavamox.!

How many more to go? Pills, I mean?
I'm on a roll cleaning the house, and since it's so darn cold, it's likely I'll just do that all day...

I had to dash for an emergency yesterday and couldn't post any more. My 83 year old aunt fell and cut her head and arm. I had to bring her to urgent care, etc. etc. then dash back to work etc. etc. Then we had our small group Bible study group from church to go to, etc. etc.
I had been hoping to have Minnesota Minimoot updates all day.
Here is the latest twist on Minimoot. My daughter will be there as well, and Susan and she will not be coming to the movie....
Other than that, all systems are go!
Snowpants.......check
Snowboots.........check
Parka with hood........check
Balaclava.........check
Mitten liners.........check
Mittens.........check
Whistle........check
Cookies.......check
Skivvies.........check
Uh, anything else?
Oh yeah, axe.........check
Yep, I'm ready for entmoot!!
4 HOURS UNTIL MINNESOTA MINIMOOT!!!

2JM: good morning, brisk out isn't it? Back from Samantha's constitutional and enjoying a cup of coffee as well. Bright and sunny here so I imagine our snow will go today. Inside sounds good, may hit the shop and work on my bow.
OT: glad you're down to six left; 2 or 3 a day? No kindling in the storm debris? Well, county mulch goes to a good cause.
To: osagebowman
2 a day.
The plan is/was to chop it up and tote it to The House for firewood...the oak, hickory, and maple anyway and drag the rest to the curb....uh road access. I still have stuff that requires a chain saw (I ain't touching one of those things) along with some now topless trees that need to be taken down.
Should have worked on it last weekend...oh well.
To: Overtaxed
OT: sounds like a plan to me; know what you mean about chain saws, used them a lot years ago but when we bought the house I got a Sears electric chainsaw. Very light and easy to use, if you're comfortable with a Skil-saw, the electric chainsaw is the way to go (imho) it isn't as fast as gas one but a lot easier to handle and will do most home type sawing. Cost is about 50-75 bucks and mine is about 20 years old, plug it in and go, no points, oil, gas and darn little noise (we have an electric lawnmower as well.) Good luck on chopping and hauling.

Morning All! Stayed up too late, so we slept in. Little one is watching The Aristocats, so hopefully I can get some work done today.

Morning, Corin. I'm going to be in and out all morning and probably afternoon. It's sunny so I think I'll just stay by a window while I work.

Hmm. Well, you could drive to Michigan for fun... you could go bungee jump off the Golden Gate Bridge... you could try to take over the world...
