Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

2 inches and the schools are closed!?... what a scam...Hey it's Richmond, g'nad! They probably only have two snow plows!
A good friend of ours moved back South to Birmingham AL last year after having been in New Jersey for 10 yrs. then San Fran for 5. He had to laugh when the first 'storm' hit. There was about an inch of snow, and only he and another guy who was from 'up North' made it in to work. The other guy said he'd seen the 'snow crew' on the way in; one guy in a truck throwing sand by hand on to the ramps going on to I-459!!

Then we went back to the library and showed the tape to the nazi :)You know the other day I went to the dentist for a cleaning? Well, when I got there they told me my appointment was a few hours ealier and they had cancelled it because I didn't show! I was mortified because I am very punctual and just knew they thought I was some kind of irresponsible person! But I felt sure my appointment card they'd given me said 2:15. SO I made another appointment for the next day and then went home. I found the card on the counter in the kitchen and sure enough it said 2:15! I hot-footed it back down there and showed them the card! They cancelled my appointment for the next day and worked me in!
