Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Don't feel bad, you're learning how to spot that kind of person, and not get suckered in the future.I suppose so! But it's not like I've never worked in this field before...I've been in PC support for eight years, so doing something stupid like that is...well...STUpid.
But it's a different environment here, and I guess that's my excuse. Luckily the IT department itself is wonderful...really good group, and they stick up for one another. I've only been here a month (today is my anniversary!) so I suppose I don't have a perfect view yet, but I can't say enough good things about the department so far. I'm happy to be here!

Good morning! Well...back to below zero here. Ugh! Supposed to get up to 20 today, though, so it's not as bad as it was.
Corin...I'll be keeping your family and your son especially in my prayers.
To: g'nad
Very cool, g'nad! Always nice to have good neighbors...
I got lucky - I didn't even KNOW my neighbors when I bought the house, but as it turns out, on one side I have a family with five or six kids (I forget...some of them don't live at home now) who are homeschooled - the Dad is a Baptist youth minister. They're wonderful people. Across the street is an older couple who I know from church, and the rest of the people on the street are primarily other church members, with about one other older couple mixed in. It's a wonderful place to live!
Did I kill the thread?

There is a real US vs. Them mentality in Missouri between the city folk and country folk... rurals despise St Louis and KC...
Re-district? they'll have to... well have more firepower and alcohol per capita than anywhere else in America

you gonna get summa the white stuff down there today? *sniff* er, uh yeah, we're supposed to get between 2-4 inches of snow and/or sleet.
To: g'nad
Kitty was not very happy with me. Shoving pills down her throat, wouldn't feed her, dragged her out from under the bed, shoved her in a box, and left her with strangers all day.
I'm ready for first breakfast. I didn't have the heart to eat in front of her.
To: Overtaxed
Here, I've got donuts and coffee to share.
To: ksen
I should probably still be there but the rabble would be roused... Tell this rabble to be quiet
We anticipate a riot.
This common crowd,
Is much to loud.
Tell this mob who sing your song
that they are fools and they are wrong.
They are a curse,
They must disperse...
