The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I do like the Celestial Seasonings. It isn't 100% mate so is a little milder but is very good. Let me know what you think. Warning: People either like it... or hate it.

I had to change my password on my system today at work. I typed in the first thing that came to mind: "Bomb Iraq Now"
I know that it's easy for me to say, but that's how I feel.... I'm sure hoping and praying for a swift and sucessful conclusion....

You need to get yourself out to KC as soon as you can so you can moot with osagebowman. Are there any other KC HHD'ers?

It was OT's idea to name it "Road Grill". I intend to spray paint it on there, some day!
Too funny, huh?

I've seen those left behind... it's a terrible price... having to face them... and the guilt you feel, cuz your alive, and your friend is not...
but as the Corps taught me from day 1, "Nuthin' in this world is free..."

Seeing your name while I'm catching up on hundreds of posts just reminded me...I dreamed about you last night!!
We were in a small town and there was this new guy that moved into town. He was very hubba hubba and you fell in love with him and started stalking him LOL. You broke into his house and you followed him to work. I think I worked with him in a shop or maybe I was working there and he came in with you following. He was trying to ditch you and you were going "I don't know why you don't like me. We get along great!" , etc. You kept blabbing a mile a minute.
I don't know why I dreamed that LOL!! Is there something you need to tell us? ;-)

Good morning, 2J! So...buy any more shoes this weekend? ;-)
I've just been over being a killjoy at C&F. I know they were just joking around, but I HATE that kind of joking.

Morning to everyone! Sorry I'm late but I finally caught up on all of the posts.
Before anything else, I want to say how very grateful I am to be alive and have such wonderful friends (more like family to me) in this world. The loss of our shuttle was terrible, but the loss of those 7 lives is devastating. Unlike the shuttle Colombia, you simply cannot replace a human life. Prayers go heavenward for the family and friends of those we lost this weekend. President Bush's statements were beautiful and I could say nothing better, so I will not try.
Hug each other close today and remember that no matter what you are going through, at least you are still here to love and be loved. *clearing throat*
Now, let us move on lest we become depressed and lose sight of the fact that those who have gone are now at home with the Lord and MUCH better off than we are down here.
I'm starved so you all must be too! Let's have some pancakes, sausage patties and nice, crispy bacon this morning. I've whipped up a bunch of buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy for heartier fare. Grits, fried eggs and hash browns are ready on the hot plate. I've also got some scrambled eggs ready for those who like their eggs fully cooked. :)
Plenty of coffee, tea and hot chocolate for everyone! ENJOY!
2J - Love the Road Grill - LOL! Made me smile to see you at the helm with those delicious looking vittles on the fire. I got your pics of Pippin and Papa, BTW. *grinning*
Hair - tsk, tsk. I am wondering at the "stiffening" of the Frodo standee and how it coincides with your finger injury. *wicked grin* Kidding, sis! Seriously, how's the smashed up digit?
Sam Cree - have a great time in Palm Beach, Sam. I hope you like the cookies I gave you on Saturday. :)
g'nad - Dwarf poetry!! Goody goody! You've really got a way of painting pics with words, Master Dwarf. It reminded me of Helm's Deep, yet fits perfect with Iraq.

I just finished Guns of Avalon and am getting ready to start Sign of the Unicorn tonight. Things have taken a strange turn in Amber.......

I would like to ask for ya'll to pray for my son-in-law if and when you are moved to do so. His orders to return to the states from Germany have been cancelled. The new orders aren't known yet but we can all figure this out. He is army. Platoon sergent. He is ready to go. Chomping at the bit. My daughter needs peace about this though. She is a worrier.

"I'm doing some freeping with some hot chocolate with Bailey's."Does the chocolate drown out the smell of the Bailey's? Maybe I could bring a thermos of "hot chocolate" into work ;-)
