Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

What are the evlish words for "out" and "house"?From what I can find right now out would be "et"- (which is a prefix), and house is "coa". I guess you could put them together and get "etcoa" for "outhouse".
I am getting these from a Quenya wordlist I found on google. It may be different in Sindarin.

I'll have to check that one out too. I haven't done it in a long time either. I first was introduced to them in college. I skipped out on many of the daily chapels we had to attend and spent it in the computer lab lol.

I was trying to come up with Thread killer a while back, but there is no word for "kill" in elvish according to that site.... So the best I can do is thread=lain plus death=gurthu, or gwanno for laingurthu or laingwanno....
As far as bathroom goes, I think theirs would be more like wind chambers, if you know what I mean ;^)
Thus we could have wind=gwaa or gust of wind=gwam combined with chamber=sam or samm to have gwaaasam or gwamsamm....

Quiet day in the Hole today. I was busy. Always busy the last couple of business days of the month and the first few of the month....
Everybody must have started their weekends already.....
My inlaws are coming up from Mankato for the weekend, BIL and SIL and kids. BIL and SIL are running in the St. Paul Winter Carnival Frozen Half-Marathon.... (Yeah, they're nuts). But they love LOTR, we'll probably be watching some of the commentaries...
We are very close to finalizing plans for Minnesota Minimoot next Saturday... the excitement is building...stay tuned...
I'm going to try to post some pics this weekend, just for fun and for practice...

This restaurant where my favorite local band plays serves a Bailey's Creme Brulee! (sp?)
I had some the other night at the release party...but I was so keyed up I couldn't taste anything. Everything just tasted like dust.
