Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I love that joke. I think of it whenever good intentions blow up in someone's face.

FR is messing up a little, here and there.
To: HairOfTheDog
That is a very cute story. You are right, most of the time, it works out best just to be honest.

Did someone kill the thread?

LOL! Yep! Just fixed the boys their lunch.
I'm thinking of going shopping again...back to Kohls...where I got those 11 pairs of shoes? Well, I'm thinking of going to a different one, see if they have some in my size.
I must restrain myself, however...and limit my purchase to one pair for myself only!
To: RMDupree
Yes, IMO it is a very good picture of Jeanne, tho lousy of me, so hopefully she will be OK with putting it up.
To: 2Jedismom
hehehehe - no chance, 2J!
If they have 4 pairs in your size at that price, you'd better snatch them all off the shelf!

You are not good for me.
To: Sam Cree
Well, get her OK before anything. Once she says it's alright with her, I'll post it. :)
And you don't look lousy, for crying out loud!

You remind me of that episode of The Lucy Show (post I Love Lucy). She wanted new furniture and a baked bean company said "if these aren't the best beans you've ever tasted, we'll double your money back."
So she went all over town buying up cases of the beans.
To: 2Jedismom
At least they aren't super duper expensive shoes on sale! I confess to buying two pairs of hiking boots once, because they were half off! I DO use them and I don't really regret it, but I wasn't even shopping for boots at the time, just browsing. And they cost a lot more than the boys' sneakers!
To: Corin Stormhands
Or the episode of I Love Lucy where they get a freezer and she buys a whole side of beef at a time to save money?

...she buys a whole side of beef at a time to save money? That one hits a little too close to home. My step-dad was a butcher by trade. Although he worked in a factory for 20 years, he cut meat at home on the side.
Our family would get a cow every year and I'd have to be there helping to package it up.
(could also contribute to my not liking rare meat!)
