Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Though I wish he could have used his real accent in the movieI thought Sean Bean DID use mostly his real accent in the movie. Maybe softened it a bit? He's from the North of England, right?
To: HairOfTheDog
Just 'cuz he's on a long trip, sleeping outside, battling orcs and balrogs, he allowed his hair to get matted? - The slob!Didn't seem to affect Legolas. He stayed pretty.
Until TTT, anyway. His hair got a bit mussed up during the battle at Helm's Deep.

Well, our parents in law all passed away, sadly, all 4 of them, within a 5 year period, nearly 10 years ago, so the ones we get now are brothers and sisters in law, which, since we have all gotten kind of old and crotchety ourselves, are nearly as bad :-D
However, I will refrain (for the time being, anyway) from telling stories about them, except that the kids have taken to calling my brother in law Michelle, in place of his real name, Michael. I am getting a case of cabin fever.
"Ah well, FIL is on the golf course now...sprinkled around where he got his Hole in One."
Man, that could be kind of creepy, 2J, when you are playing that hole.

Not too many brothers take their rolls that seriously anymore, I don't think.

"Good grief! Just 'cuz he's on a long trip, sleeping outside, battling orcs and balrogs, he allowed his hair to get matted? - The slob! "I didn't say that it wasn't supposed to get like that! :-P

LOL! I didn't realize it was animated, I thought I was just posting the green shoes....
To: SuziQ
Are you talking about the horse or the man? LOL! The man has no thighs, if it is indeed Ian. It doesn't look like a woman with those thighs, and most of the stunt riders were wimmin....
And small wimmin to boot... The costumes for the Black rider outfits weighed nearly 80 pounds or something, so they had to start out with little riders if the horses were to carry them runnin' flat out. A horse can't do that long carryin' 200 pounds.

HA! - You are lucky the surprise image was just a chick in antlers!

I thought Sean Bean DID use mostly his real accent in the movie. Maybe softened it a bit? He's from the North of England, right?Dunno. All I know is that he sounds different (better?) in the interviews.
To: 2Jedismom
Yeah, his protectiveness is really neat there.
To: RosieCotton
Legolas has elf-guard. He always looks marvelous.
To: Dawntreader

But I don't want him as a brother!

I'm thinkin' of "flying a sign" that says this: ELF I dunno. Do you really want to label your self "E.L.F" in Washington State?
To: Sam Cree
However, I will refrain (for the time being, anyway) from telling stories about them,LOL! Ok...I'll wait.
;-)
You've got freepmail.

Rats. I've got to go meet with a couple of trolls.
Be back when they're dispatched.
To: SuziQ
Whoever it is has the skinniest little chicken legs I have ever seen. Are you talking about the horse or the man? LOL! Actually, I think Ian McKellan is a very skinny man, so it may be him!
Theoden has chicken legs!
