Your nation is threatened, and Uncle Sam doesn't care

Your nation is threatened, and Uncle Sam doesn't care.

By Chris Simcox Dec. 8, 2002

Enough is enough.

The mainstream popular print and television media have been sensationalizing my efforts; after all, I did lead them into the trap. You have been completely misinformed. The print media have created a fabrication of my intentions and goals. Folks, you've been had, again! This time you have a chance to learn something. What I hope you get from this is as basic as baseball, apple pie and Uncle Sam . . . it's the Uncle Sam I am worried about.

Why do we vote? I thought it was to choose people as public servants - good-hearted folks who told us they would represent us. We elect them based on their sincerity; they stroke us into believing in them, enough to entrust them to enforce the laws of the country. What a scam! Government does not enforce the basic laws that provide for our national security. For a year, my president and yours has been asking us to be vigilant in defense of our country.

I cannot think of a more effective effort than volunteering to stop terrorism (criminals, drugs and illegal immigration) from crossing our borders. We allow our government to threaten us with the impending disaster of another terrorist attack, yet Americans seem to be unwilling to defend themselves, let alone their country.

Americans seem morally devoid of the courage it takes to ward off an intruder breaking into their home, let alone realize the seriousness of allowing an invasion of refugees and drug dealers from foreign countries. It may be time to trust no one and begin building our alliances from the ground up.

The United States' borders and coastlines must be patrolled by the U.S. Army and/or state militias. That would be the National Guard. The military is to be utilized first to protect American citizens, yet you allow the government to tell you, "Sorry, we can't. It's too big a job." What they are telling you is that you and your loved ones are expendable casualties in this war on drugs and terrorism.

I among many others will not accept our government telling us it "can't." This is a "can do" society, and citizens will now risk confronting the government to get the point across.

Is it so wrong for Americans to demand some honest return on their tax investment?

The words "protect the people" are found in virtually every oath of office taken by elected and appointed officials in the nation, including police chiefs, mayors, county sheriffs, state legislators, governors, representatives and senators. Few of these officials on the public dole are taking those oaths seriously when it comes to the issue of protecting the United States. This problem has been ignored in just about every city and county in America while costing exorbitant amounts of taxpayer dollars, spent on social welfare and the education of illegal aliens. Ignoring this problem will result in an increasing crime rate in which too many American citizens become victims of criminal, illegal aliens.

We need responsible, controlled legal immigration policies to keep out likely criminals and those who have infectious diseases. Protecting citizens from such obvious dangers is the primary responsibility of our governmental agencies. That fundamental truth used to be recognized before business realized it could reduce labor costs by keeping the borders open for an endless supply of cheap foreign labor. I say hold these businesses accountable for following the law.

Our country calls itself a "nation of laws." But illegal immigration makes a mockery of that.

I have spent years teaching these values to my children and to the hundreds of children I nurtured as a schoolteacher. I have attempted to do the right thing for the youth of this country.

Again, I am attempting to do what is right to provide a better future for the next generation.

Is citizenship our most valuable asset, one achieved on the basis of an orderly queue? Or will you continue to allow the government to tell you they cannot help the situation? Hold them accountable, now.

Civil War???? Therein lies a solution that needs much thinking by people that have not been thinking on their own for a very long time.

What can be more precious than American citizenship? Or a green card that allows you to live and work here legally? Our current immigration policies cheapen American citizenship. I resent this.

The invasion by illegals is treated as a joke. Given a nod and a wink.  I resent this.

Yeah. That's the ticket. Start a civil war while we're fighting a war on terrorism.

You'd be crushed like bugs.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that our president and most of those in congress have no intention of putting an end to illegal immigration

Selling out the country for campaign contributions and votes.

I agree with Simcox--Americans have been stricken with this weird apathy when it comes to protecting their country.

It seems like more people are waking up lately. Americans need to realize that they are not safe and protected unless they take the necessary steps to make it so. First order of business is voting out all the illegal butt kissers. Let's start with Bush!

I know that many FReepers are rabid Bush supporters, so I won't be surprised to catch flak for this. I voted for Bush because I didn't want Al Gore to be president. Not because I wanted Bush to be president. Personally, I think he is an idiot--and nothing he has done so far has proven my opinion wrong. Of course, I am not saying that I am fit to be president, either. The only reason he won the election is because everyone dreaded the other alternative.

I feel a concensus building to close the borders to immigration...at least for a while. Your thoughts?

I don't understand fantasy talk? Or ruminations from the shortwave crowd?

I could have understood this thread when I was in third grade.

If you voted for an idiot, what does that make you?

There you go again, bragging bout making it to third grade. Your words not mine. I have always known that any heavy intellectual thinking left you by the wayside, so take your bile elsewhere to play.

If Bush will not close the border we need to nominate somone else from a non-Mexican dominated state to run in 2004.

Ummm, no offense, but criticism of Bush by a poster named 'stalin' just might be viewed by many as a stirring endorsement.
