AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION - Days 686 and 687) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 7, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/07/2002 4:28:54 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

GLOBAL WARNING ACTIVIST ALERT!!

December 7 record low temperature:

Washington Dulles Airport - former record: 18 (set various years)
Washington Dulles Airport - new record: 3 (set in 2002)

Other temperatures around the Washington metro area:

Washington: 21 [not a new record]
Richmond: 21
Petersburg: 18
Patuxent River: 14
Roanoke: 13
Fredericksburg: 12
Charlottesville: 12
Lynchburg: 12
Manassas: 0 [ZERO]

Here, at the cottage: a nice, balmy 9.9

Question for the global warming people: considering that current low temperature records for the day were not simply broken, but crushed, does this fit your "models"? Hmmm?

In the news:

Runoff election day in Louisiana. And what would an election be if it didn't have a Criminal Party vote buying scandal? Landrieu is accused of trying to buy military votes with $10 Thanksgiving food gift certificates. The claim is reported in The Washington Times, and comes from Gen. George Peyton Cole, Jr., retired.

North Carolina has activated the National Guard to help storm victims.

And one of the hottest toys this Christmas shopping season? A talking President Bush doll. The Daily News reports the doll says "17 powerful and patriotic phrases," including:

"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot shake the foundation of America."

"I will not yield. I will not rest. I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people."

And what would a President Bush doll be without a mangled phrase? They included: "I will not hold this nation hostile."

Reportedly the manufacturer is also planning dolls for JFK, and President Reagan.

[They are also planning one for UOx42, but it is not clear whether one of the phrases for that doll would be: "I never had sex with that woman."]

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Just got back from the Spotters II class.

The NWS person we had, at least that was my impression, didn't seem to want to be there. It was "how fast can I get through this presentation and get out of here."

I would have liked more info on NEXRAD, but didn't.

Cool movie, though.

December 9
Chicago At Miami 9:00pm

Good evening all. A little chilly in paradise. Heard the sonic booms from the shuttle. The network did split screen of the ball game (I have to say that the Squids kicked our b...), and landing.

I have had requests to post the NFL schedule. If I have bothered anyone, please accept my apologies.

The Dolphins got beat in Buffalo last week. Many poor calls in the first half (all against Miami...I know, sour grapes, yada yada). But, the Bills played very well in the second half and deserved the win (I hate saying that). Fiedler is back, Ricky ran all over the Bills, and Madison and Surtain are the best corners in the league. Not to mention Taylor and Zack. Plus it's MNF!

Methinks Chicago better bring their lunch. Miami 31 - Chicago 13.

=============================================

He flat out declared that NO Palestinian guns - the ones from the PA's police authority - were ever used to kill Israeli soldiers on the West Bank. And furthermore, he hinted darkly at a conspiracy - and then openly declared - that the "Israeli CIA" sold guns to West Bank Palestinians so they could shoot at the IDF, thus providing the excuse for more Israeli tanks and forces to arrive!!!!! On several levels, this is not only a ridiculous accusation, but an obscene one. From his previous visit, I knew this man blamed his town's & people's plight on Israel....everything bad...he laid at Israel's feet. But the perverseness of this last- that I heard - specific charge....made me physically ill. Dupe...terrorist sympathizer...or worse..I could no longer stand to be in that room with him, and left. Next week I'll have to follow up on this with our minister, and request that someone from the Israeli side be brought in to provide balance. Will also try to engage some of the others who were there and find out their thoughts. Hours later, I'm finally starting to calm down. SJackson, thanks for your help and info. Appreciate it so much. SJackson, do you know anything more about this gun business - both charges made today by this man?

=============================================

I see the good professor wears a tin foil hat, hope he provided them to the audience. I’ll ping a couple of people to the thread who might know something about this.

His charges are ludicrous on their face.

First, his statement is a tacit admission of the evil nature of Islamic terror. Were this a just cause, no one in the audience would care where the weapons came from. Did he accuse Dow Chemical of making the explosives in their belts? It’s also seems to me a straightforward admission that the PA authorities are engaged in terrorist attacks.

Israel and the US have armed the PA police, and Arafat has engaged in a significant amount of smuggling. I have seen photos of gunman with M16s, which assuredly were arms the US and Israel provided. Is there a record of whether a sniping incident (which happen daily, they usually miss)? Maybe, somewhere, though I don’t know where to find it, and can’t really understand why Israel would compile one.

The IDF Website has a good set of archives, including articles on smuggling, and photos, some of which might show US arms. Unfortunately, they’re not organized all that well.

Essentially, he’s engaging in the “gun made me do it” mentality of Sarah Brady. The source of the weapons are irrelevant, Palestinian terror is the issue.

As to the conspiracy theory, how do you disprove a negative? It is a fact the US and Israel provided the arms and the training, including sniper training, to the PA police. They have no shortage of small arms, in fact the level of arms are substantially higher than what Oslo would have allowed. I’ve no idea why the CIA would engage in a conspiracy to provide additional arms to the PA underground, but I bet the Professor has some interesting conspiracy theories.

If you’d like some more links to sources, FR mail me, and if I come across a pic of a terrorist with US weapons, I’ll ping you, but, of course the good prof has already established an alibi for that, his intent.

Hi Guenie. Next week-end I'm going "crafting". I agree, some of those crafters are so inventive and "craftie". Guenie Bear is doing very well. If you come up this way, she'd like to say "Howdy" to you and King Arthur.

gc, I agree with you about diets, my sisters "controls" her intake of fats, and is successful, another sister eats mostly green stuff and it works for her, I'm a meat eater. However, your grapefruit sounds interesting.

Molly, I guess the Palis will always blame the Israelis for any unpleasantness that the Palis perpetuate. I remember, some years ago, a news reporter speaking with some Palis of their lack of work. One I remember, very well, a medical doctor could not find work because the Israelis would not hire him........duh! I personally think the Palis will blame the Israelis for all wrong doing till the end of time even those who call themselves christian. Before the Israelis, that area was nothing but a dry, unforgiving desert, now it blooms, the Palis did nothing to improve it.

Mr M, you can find some really good stuff in a 2nd hand store and even in a flea market, just know what you're buying. I've got some really good stuff. I have a "junk" marble top table that I've refinished and it holds all the junk I can't fit on my desk. I love it.

It is really my pleasure to get us going in the morning.

--not much to "spot," weatherwise, this time of year. Mostly just measuring the snow - take a ruler, select five spots, jam it in, take readings, and average the results.

I came home this afternoon having baked 2 huge batches of oatmeal-raisin cookies (family favorite) and a double batch of spritz. More baking next week. I have sealed them in plastic bags and put them on a high shelf in the garage, away from both Mr. Marple and Cassie (who stole the sour cream off the counter this evening while m back was turned!).

Then I had to take a nap because the medication I am on makes me tired, got up and cooked dinner. Checking news here and then I am going to do some work around the house.

Oh, Rita Cosby has someone as a guest tonight who is going to say that Bush 41 gave orders to go easy on the Saudis. Why am I thinking this is a plant by the Rats?

The Larry Klaymen bunch were crowing when a Clintonoid judge ruled that Cheney must reveal his records of deliberations on energy. Here is part of a press report on what the appeals court did.

A federal appeals court indefinitely delayed Monday's deadline for the White House to produce task force documents or provide a detailed list of the documents it is withholding.

The two-page order said the court will schedule a date for arguments on whether to step into the case and consider the administration's request to put a halt to producing documents and providing testimony.

Two private groups, Judicial Watch and the Sierra Club, have sued, demanding the task force reveal documents about its meetings with industry representatives in formulating a plan that calls for expanded oil and gas drilling on public land and easing regulatory barriers to building nuclear power plants.

It is interesting that this is an indefinite stay and they did not not set a date to hear arguments on the merits. That means it is not at the top of the appeals court's to do list.

They in effect took the case away from the Clintonoid judge and then said they would decide at a date to be named later about discussing if this should be made permanent.

This case will get dropped in 2009 for lack of donors.

If Larry Klayman sued himself who could he get for his defense attorney?

Blaspheme!!!!

LA Senate race update: Fox News reported that the folks at Terrell's headquarters were upbeat, while the mood at Landrieu's was bordering on desperate. Just over two hours to go!

Thanks for the NFL schedule.

And congratulations to the University of Miami for their fine defensive performance today which got them into the national championship. The worst thing about it is that now we have to suffer through the Hurricane fans around here who seriously think that Ken Dorsey is the best college football player in the country. Give me a break!

Oh, Rita Cosby has someone as a guest tonight who is going to say that Bush 41 gave orders to go easy on the Saudis

Depends on what you mean by go easy. In the first Gulf war our troops were ordered to try with in limits not to violate their religious customs. Muslims pray 5 times a day at specific intervals. Our troops were ordered not to make noise or do any other thing that would disrupt their prayer. We did a number of things that would seem quite strange to Americans to bow to their cultural customs while we were in Saudi.

The Saud's were pretty good friends from 1948 until the Clinton years. Most of the nasty things occurred under Clinton. Presidents all they way back to HST had to slap them up side the head every once in while just so they knew who was boss. From 1993 until 2001 they never got slapped.

Osma bin Laden worked for our CIA during the Reagan administration. He was one of the instruments we used to defeat the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. That was arranged through Saudi Arabia.

We used Stalin to defeat Hitler. We used Osama to do some damage to the Soviet Union.

Reagan had the best plan for dealing with both Iran and Iraq. The liberal Democrats used Iran Contra to kill it. When Iran was at war with Iraq, Reagan ordered the CIA to help the side was losing. Reagan's logic was that both the Mullahs in Iran and Saddam in Iraq would do us no harm as long as they were fighting each other. Reagan reasoned that if they were fighting each other, Americans would be safe. Thus policy was help the side that is losing at the moment. You can find evidence that we helped Saddam. You can find evidence we helped Iran. You can find evidence the war kept up until we stopped helping the loser keep fighting.

We helped Osama fight the Soviets... You will notice back then that none of them were fighting us. To pay for all that in fighting they had to pump a lot of oil.. remember 89 cent gasoline?
