Wow. Tiling your living room... I'm impressed! The best we could do was with those sticky tiles - the thin kind you just peel off the paper and stick down - in our kitchen. (Hey, we were on a strict budget, and those tiles can look nice, if you do it right). 90% through it, we realized we needed more tile, but the store had run out of stock, and - get this - the color and style had been discontinued by the manufacturer. So, for a few years, our kitchen tile stopped just before the counter. Ahem... since then, we've paid a contractor to retile the kitchen in ceramic. Tiling... apparently not our area of expertise. ;)

Reading all these great stories of flooring renews my desire to rip-up the old, worn carpeting in our hallway. I'm hoping that underneath it's the same hardwood as my kitchen (which is at the end of the hallway). However, since we're still putting the laundry/mud/bathroom back together after a painter rescued it for us, I guess that'll have to wait. Hmmmm, maybe I can "justify" it as some sort of relevant hs'ing project. My 4yo ds
is interested in tearing apart and building stuff.....
