You're right. We should lower teams in the rankings for winning ugly.

FWIW, I don't see Ohio State as the second best team in the country. But, as one analyst pointed out, they are winning with defense, much as Oklahoma did in 2000.

BTW, there are no senior starters on Ohio State's offense. I can hope they will improve with age.

Actually, Oklahoma won its first eight games with offense that season, and was forced to win with defense after Heupel's elbow wore out from throwing 80 passes a game.

As tough as it is to go undefeated in a major conference today, winning ugly is good enough to compete for the Sears Trophy. As long as the Buckeyes outscore their opponents in every game, it's a victory, and they're doing what they're supposed to do. Though I don't personally think Ohio State is even the best team in its own conference, they have gotten it done on the field. Time for the Scarlet and Gray to start packing for Tempe. No way Michigan wins the game at the Horseshoe.
