In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
moribund \MOR-ih-bund\, adjective:
moribundity; noun
moribundly; adverb
- In a dying state; dying; at the point of death.
- Becoming obsolete or inactive.
- not growing or changing; without force or vitality
If talking about books -- a subject often more personal than politics and more arguable than religion -- can be bruising, it can for the same reasons be thrilling. Yet serious literary conversation as an avocation, as an impromptu congress of amateurs, has been moribund for half a century.
--Brian Hall, "The Group," New York Times, June 6, 1999
Etymology: Latin moribundus, from mori to die. Date: circa 1721
TOPICS: Education; Humor; Word For The Day
KEYWORDS: 102902; students; tuesday; wordfortheday

It's cold here in AZ, too. It's 49 degrees out there.
Time for Cyber to light that magical fireplace tonight. Can paint fumes flare up on you?

What really frys me is that I could get out of my little neighborhood, but then I can't go anywhere once I'm out, so I might as well not get angry and hang around for an hour or so and hope that the water recedes.

Congratulations on the election. It sounds as if all of you put in a lot of effort to get a Republican elected.Thank you! Yes, we did put in a lot of effort to get a Republican elected but in this case there were only Republicans running and only Republican County Committee members for the 11th District voting. The regular election will be November of next year. This is the election after redistricting so the entire legislature will be up for election.
I do have 37 out of 42 of my committee member positions filled. I had just 7 filled after the primary. I couldn't have done it without Sean. It was his hard work that paid off. He will do just fine.

That is, if she's not on vacation again! Oh, but you'll do. Why should Miss C have all the fun?
