In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
moribund \MOR-ih-bund\, adjective:
moribundity; noun
moribundly; adverb
- In a dying state; dying; at the point of death.
- Becoming obsolete or inactive.
- not growing or changing; without force or vitality
If talking about books -- a subject often more personal than politics and more arguable than religion -- can be bruising, it can for the same reasons be thrilling. Yet serious literary conversation as an avocation, as an impromptu congress of amateurs, has been moribund for half a century.
--Brian Hall, "The Group," New York Times, June 6, 1999
Etymology: Latin moribundus, from mori to die. Date: circa 1721
TOPICS: Education; Humor; Word For The Day
KEYWORDS: 102902; students; tuesday; wordfortheday

I have had exactly the same thing happen except no one was hurt. The gun was laying in the back of an SUV and a friend's lab jumped over the back seat. A few minutes later the weapon discharged and blew a 1 inch hole through the side of the vehicle. Scary but at least no one was hurt.

Homework:
The democrats are so serious about getting the "telephone book" to register!) that that it appears that fraud is their only way of winning close elections.
Of course, like Frankenstein, the moribundity of dead voters they can animate on election day, the more democrats they can get in power.

At least the Jets had a 21-point lead to blow. Last night the Giants should have quit at halftime and let Lautenberg play the second half.

Jean hasn't written one piece of legislation, right? I guess she's got good standing then. LOL! If you saw the kind of junk our state legislators file every year, that wouldn't be as funny. They don't take time to think about what they're doing -- it's all for "feeling good" or for show. (I have to commend one Democrat though; when I showed him how the bill he'd written would accomplish the exact opposite of what he intended, he killed it in his own committee.)
I wish there were penalties for filing bad legislation. (And elections don't count, not with a thoroughly asleep electorate.)

(Yes, I'm in a kind of ugly mood this morning.)

Miss Slippy makes the best coffee. Nothing opens my eyes in the morning better than a nice, hot cup o' joe, delivered by my lovely wife....
(On Sundays, I deliver the java)

On Sundays, you deliver the coffee with gusto! I'm not that great during the week.
Still watching the markets closely.
