Around here the malls all have trick-or-treating, as well as some of the nursing homes, for those who choose not to be outdoors. The people in the nursing homes love to see the kids in their costumes, and the kids get their treats, so everyone is happy.:)

I think that is my favorite part of Halloween is seeing all the little kids in their Halloween costumes. And how big their eyes get when I give them two pieces of candy or let them choose.

Woo-hoo! We just got back from talking to a loan officer at our bank about getting pre-approved for a home loan. We didn't do all the paperwork yet, but found out that even on our piddly little part-time jobs we've had since August we can get a loan for a minimum of $86,000 for a 15-year mortgage. Add in our $15,000 downpayment and we're looking at over $100,000 which, around here in middle Tennessee, can buy plenty of house. We were just hoping to get an approval for, say, $60,000 so this is good new to us.

We do too, but I can see the wide-open parking lots in Tysons Corner or Dulles Town Centre as being perfect for our nut. The question is: which 1 of the places, if any, is a target.

I can choose to risk my life or not, Mrs. Chairman can make the same choice (though I would try to influence it, as she would me). But I have a responsibility to provide as best I can for my kids safety, and the parking lots of our major malls are simply too wide open, and I can't get them close enough to the door.

It's too much.
