Completely wrong and backed up by numerous cases where lawyers have asked to be removed from cases.

What do you guys think about an acomplise (assuming DW is guilty for moment)? The totality of the evidence points that way: 4 bugsperts, unidentified fingerprints in the van Dam house.

Who would Westerfield want to shield bad enough to be given the death penalty?

And you in turn, demonstrate that like most of the legal profession, you have no understanding of ETHICS.

I don't understand the disdain for OReiilly among a large portion of FReepers...

It's because a large portion of FReepers are very into "purity tests." O'Reilly is not a "conservative" by the standards of many FReepers. He espouses too many "liberal" views, or he's a "statist" or whatever.

I myself don't agree with him on some things, but I find his arguments always stimulating, and when he gets hold of an issue, unlike most of his softball contemporaries, he doesn't let go and he doesn't care what the p.c. spin would dictate.

His continual treatment of Jesse Jackson's empire of fraud is a great example.

Evidently you also don't have a clue as to the legal definition of "slander." You certainly are careless in your use of words.

Oh, man, give it a rest! I see no mob, only those hungering for justice in an O.J.-ized, Clintonized world of intolerable INjustice.

I'm astonished that anyone would actually write something as patently silly as that.

I doubt that you are any more astonished than most of us are at those, like you, who continue to aggressively defend a child murderer. It's beyond silly, though. It's downright evil.

No, the trial is sufficient. But if enough attorneys had any degree of moral sense--a pipe-dream, I know--then the truly guilty would be left with nothing but criminals to defend them.

Come to think of it, that's probably not far from where it is now--except that the criminals get paid millions and are constantly held up as paragons by the same media that hail Bill Clinton.

Johnny Cochran comes to mind. Do you think he is reviled by most decent citizens because he makes an HONEST effort to defend the "innocent"?

Unemotional analysis for most of the general public is a skill of which they are completely devoid.

It is not required that the "general public" be unemotional in their analysis of a heinous crime. In fact, I suggest that it is of BENEFIT for a prosecuting attorney to be "emotional" about the death of an innocent child at the hands of a monster. Passion often fuels extraordinary effort.

I for one am glad that our fighting men in Afghanistan remembered why they were there, and had the passion to do a very thorough job.

This "unemotional analysis" fraud is typical of someone who really doesn't want to believe this guy was guilty. Take away the emotion, and what's the big deal, really?

I don't know if the lawyers who defended him in the molestation case knew he was guilty but I don't think they care.

That was evident when Bill O'Reilly interviewed him on the air the day after Avila was captured.

I wonder how they live with themselves now?

Evidently the guy had no problem with it. In fact, he was too busy being indignant with O'Reilly's DARING to criticize him, to worry about the fact that he'd likely been accessory to a child's murder.

Many things that O'Reilly has done, I applaud. Night after night, he should also reveal what a fraud Slick Willy was. He is the ultimate reson why our country is in the shape it is in. Ask O'Reilly to invite Slick Willy on his show. O'Reilly is full of blather and he is definately full of himself. I just wish when he gets a victory, he should quit with the self adulation.

He doesn't have to "throw" it. If he has a shred of morality, he tells the judge that he cannot continue as attorney, on ethical and moral grounds.

But of course, he wouldn't get paid and wouldn't get face-time in front of the camera if he did that, would he?
