I have no idea if I'm breaking any rules with posting this masterpiece by our departed Maestro....and I honestly don't care - I miss him, and we need him back here....especially at this emotional time.

Oh, I guess I should have warned you that this thread would be controversial. J
Er...ummm.....I kinda knew that; I was not quite "in on" the details before, but this goofy thread is bringing me up to speed.......nothing changes IMO, though; Registered is a great talent at what he can accomplish with his great skills.

Ok, which measurement would you like first? ;-)
Gotta tighten up the perameters, Gawain....eg, "summer or winter" and don't forget to take the water temperature into consideration. The whiplash effect can play havoc with the male ego......

Well, I was going 10 rounds with those that said Bush signing CFR was a stroke of genius. Those were some of the most idiotic comments I've ever heard. Well .. signing the bill itself wasn't .. personally my stomache sank when I heard the news ..
But at the same time .. we all know that this part of the bill will be throw out .. because it shuts up the left just as much as it shuts up the right ..
and once it is throw out by the Supreme Court .. it will end that argument from the Dems for good
Was it risky .. YES .. but it was also smart
And yes .. that's how politics work some times

Well, I was going 10 rounds with those that said Bush signing CFR was a stroke of genius. Those were some of the most idiotic comments I've ever heard. Exactly. And if they could have left it at the "stroke of genius" argument without getting personal it would have made a difference. That's when FR went downhill for me--though I don't blame FR as a whole. I love this website. I confess, during that time I thought about leaving. I decided I have too many friends here that know how to disagree with me from time to time and still work together.

Well I wouldn't say that it was a stroke of genius. I did see people declare that he had no choice and that they believed that both they and GWB thought that the courts would strike it down. No, not typically a valid reason to sign a bill that you believe to be unconstitutional. I don't happen to believe, however, that it's the Executive Branch's place to determine constitutionality. They can make a judgement, but not a final ruling. Only the USSC can do that.
The stroke of genius may have been mentioned, not in reference to his actually signing it, but in reference to his signing it may be the only way to finally kill it for good. Though genius wouldn't have been my choice of words.
McCain has tried this for years. He'd never stop unless the courts declare it unconstitutional. That I do believe. So if that qualifies as genius, well I guess I'd be guilty. Not that the bill or his signing of it was something that I, or any of the other "bots" support or approve of.
We'd just like to see it die a quick death. Once and for all.
But as long as the dems control the Judiciary Committee, we will continue to have decisions handed down such as those in the 9th circuit recently re the Pledge of Allegience.

So then all will be well/fine/kosher/uptight/ and all those other good things. No need for more 'effing footballs' .... but bet the Cowboys wished they had one last night that would work for them.

So then all will be well/fine/kosher/uptight/ Well, if things are gonna get uptight, I'm not so sure it's a good idea... ;0)

He hasn't come back because he can't stand the smell. You roving moe-moes and your little ping lists and "rumors" and vendettas and nasty dispostitions honesty have diminished FR. Ping list? Hmmm, never had any use for those things. I hate cliques...

It ALSO effectively shut up the McCainiac! Oh that is just wishful thinking .. I'm sure he'll find something to complain about

One thing I like about FR is that, with most people, you can be at each other's throat on one thread about one issue, and guarding each other's back on another thread about another issue.

OH YEAH???????
tee hee ;0)
regarding those anti-FR sites whatever you do don't "steal their graphics" and kill their bandwith!!
They need to get over it. I check out some comedy/weird news sites all the time... if one is not to my liking after a while...I find another. The ex FR people are babies who either can't or won't just grow up and find some place else to read/post. Otherwise, they would do the same...just find another politcs forum instead of living life to trash FR.
