In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Good morning, my friend!!!

I'm back to doing battle with the city again. I'm just this close from calling a lawyer-type friend of mine.

One of the reasons I can't sell this house of mine is because of the burned out unit 3 doors down. City ordinance requires repair within 90 days - it has now been well over 120 and still nothinghas been done. Nor has city held required hearing about it.

Needless to say - I'm TORQUED off.

On 9/12 last year, hubby was on the phone with the travel desk at American Express making airline reservations to go to Atlanta in October. He called around noon - gal he spoke with said he was the first call they had received all morning for booking - all other calls were cancellations.

I am - problem is that I can't get any of my phone calls returned. I know the reason for that - they know I'm right and they are wrong.

The selective enforcement of city ordinances is another reason I want out of here. I get hassled because the lowlifes around here use the easement behind my house as a garbage dump - but the absentee landlords are given a free pass. Sickening.

Hah!

The Gateway Arch museum alone is worth THAT short a drive .... And their "exploratorium", and the train museum west of town, and the Indian mounds north and east of town in Illinoise are also great.

(Course, we really went to see the Brewery's gardens. Heh, heh.)

But Six Flags was fun too, with assorted cousins under foot.

I remember you and I talking about our hubs both flying last october.

I've never had a problem flying, and will take it over long drives any day - I hated driving from NYC to Florida and back every summer when I was a teen.
