Survivor V kicks off on Thursday September 19th, and since a lot of us Freepers had fun speculating on Marquesas, I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the upcoming series.
The bios are out, which you can check out here, and there's already been scandal associated with two of the castaways.
First there's Brian, an actor/used car salesman, who neglected to tell the show that he had a few "blue" movies in his past. They cast a porn star!
Then there's Tonya. Her story could have a lasting impact on the outcome of the show. Shortly before filming came to an end, Tonya's father back in Tennessee was tragically killed in a car accident. Reports are that she was immediately evacuated from the island.
If Tonya was one of the first 7 people ejected from the show, then her departure would have no impact on the outcome. However, if she made it past the merger and either onto the jury or in the final two, then that could mean one less vote in the final two, or something even stranger. Only time will tell.

Jan made some poor chopices for a tribe from the get go. Jake made the strongest picks.

the chewie team all seemed to be having fun and getting along and bam next week it will be hard to live on that team. The other team doesn't get along either. gee what's a castaway to do.
To: MomwithHope
He sure did. Last week I thought he might have made a mistake picking so many alpha-male-wannabees, but it's started to look like a very smart strategy.
They'll be too busy unseating each other to think about unseating him.
My biggest problem is that I still can't tell the blondes on his tribe apart.

One thing I thought was so stupid tonight, they had trouble finding the right cove for the water. Why the heck don't they just hang a flag on a tree by the shore???!!!???
To: MomwithHope
Cuz they're stoopid!
I just love it when they cause themselves so much unnecessary suffering.

Jake is doing well and keeping everyone working together. I think he will be in the game for awhile. If the testosterone team does lose immunity they will vote off a lady for sure.
My guess is that the weaker team will keep losing and then they will spread the members out like they did last season. The buff switching stuff. I do like Ted, and just think, he's the first black male survivor who wasn't either lazy or a race-baiter.
Guess he just don't know how to "be representin'"
To: MomwithHope
well if chewie keeps losing immunity i wonder if they will pull something like the last survivor where they mixed up the teams (wasn't it the last one?)

Mom you must have been reading my mind you answered my question before i could post it cool

I do like Ted, and I'll take his "he said" against Ghandia's "she said" any day of the week. I'm growing fond of Clay, and even pornboy isn't as bad as I thought he would be.
To: MomwithHope
Ghandia clearly is the least rational. I just don't like her. Can't wait to see the big guy deny he felt her up. LOL. Men always do stuff like that. Fool around with the ugly woman and then scream " I swear I did not touch her".
And what's up with Skateboard man choking the other tribe member in the ultimare raft fighting challenge?
By the way, advice to Chewing gum. Your problem is athleticism right now, not morale. Jan goes next. She's useless.

I thought the exazct same thing. Or a big pair of crossed trees.

I'm still having a heck of a time telling everyone apart!
But I like Helen. She strikes me as sensible, with little patience for fools. And Jan needs to go! I already believe Ted over Ghandia. Just don't like her.

I'm still having a heck of a time telling everyone apart! One I'm not having trouble telling apart is Erin. Dang, those shots of her swimming were almost as subtle as the look down Lindsey's shirt in season 3! Always the Tiffany network, eh CBS?

My husband said that in the opening, they show face shots of everyone, except with Erin they start at her chest and pan up.
Anyone else notice if this is true?

I agree with you on getting rid of Jan. I also pick Ted over Ghandia.
Some wierd ones in this batch. No one that I immediately like.
I've always had ones that I liked at the beginning: Colleen, Colby & Elizabeth, Ethan, Gina & Hunter.
This one I haven't picked who I really like. The NYC cop is nice looking, but I can't figure out his personality yet.
No one I hate as much as the last one. The last survivor had a bunch of losers in it.

No. I'm rooting for Sook Jai.
To: Dianna
This is true. They also corrected the opening credits this week so that we see the people in their tribes, whereas last week they showed all the women first, then all the men.

The producers seem to cast people who are more emotional than intellectual. These Chuay Gahns keep using their emotions instead of their brains when deciding who to vote off.
Jan took forever in the IC. She couldn't unhook the piece of the puzzle. By her own admission, she cost them immunity. Add that to the fact that she didn't help Helen carry the water jugs, instead she just waded in the water. Yet she didn't receive a single vote! Why, cause they like her. Idiots. Vote off the deadweight already.
