I think you can take it another way. We know that Ed trusted Ricci and was not aware that he was a felon. What I think is being unsaid here is that he knows that Ricci had possession of a key at one time and that Ricci gave that key back to Ed. Now that Ed knows about Ricci's criminal past, and considering that the abductor apparently entered through a locked door, Ed is suspicious that Rick made a copy of the key that was at one time in his possession. He doesn't know that Ricci has a key, but the potential is there. Once again, Ed's willingness to trust this stranger should be a lesson to us all.
Yes, this was horrible, wasn't it. This was the finale for me. If anyone has heard Henry Lee say anything of any value in any appearance since post it (I'm not holding my breath).

This entire thread is full of slander and name calling and put downs to people who do not share your view. I think you better stop and think of what you have done. Have you honored Him? Have you conducted yourself to draw people toward him? NO, you have used the most degrading of all, you have taken his Holy Word and thrown it in a poster's face, totally out of context, for the express purpose of disagreement over a case that no one has facts over. You have degraded every poster. Could you even imagine what it might be like to have a discussion with another without slandering them every time they post?

I hope you can see where your heart is and fix it. You have alot of people to ask forgivness from. I suggest you start with telling our Lord you feel sorrow..and then do something to bring credit to your name. For right now..you can't get any lower to use the Lord like you did in my eyes. That is where I draw the line with you. May you see what you have done..and do something about it. He deserves that much for all He has done for you, Sherlock.
It you want to call it working. Lee, Wecht, & Badin volunteered their time to the Levy family pro bono in mid-July. They were allowed one brief viewing of the skeleton on appr. July 20 and, even though police say there was no DNA evidence on CL's clothing or possessions, they have not allowed these three to view them.
It certainly does show a realistic portrayal of a certain kind of naiveté that a lot of Mormons, the Smarts included, have. Sometimes people from my faith can be so uninformed about the world around them, especially those who live in Utah. This is not a condemnation because I fully understand it but it is sometimes frustrating to see. I do think that you would find the same type of phenomenon in many other religious groups.
Anyway the movie was good and I would recommend it to my friends regardless of their religious persuasion. It will give a person who knows nothing about Mormon’s a look into their values and way of life. It does this without being preachy and it is also a pretty fair whodunit.
Do we know for sure they had a lock box? Didn't Ed list the house with his own company? I think He or Lois would have been showing it, not some independent agent.
Do you think Rick might have made a copy on the sly? This is why Ed said he POTENTIALLY had a key. Ed doesn't know for sure because Ricci returned the key that he used in doing his work around the house. It seems to me that this was the MO for Rick and his boys. Work as handymen, obtain a copy of the house key, and return later for a little burglary action. Only this time, the item stolen was the Smarts beautiful little girl.
I'm sorry but I just don't understand why you are so suspicious of everything that the Smart family does. I see a family that is doing everything in their power to bring their daughter home. I'm not suggesting that you like them but I do think it is easy to see that their motivation is pure and their love for Elizabeth is very strong.
We DON'T KNOW that for a fact.
